Gange expected to go to the Red Sox or Brewers per ESPN.

Looks like Gagne wants to come here. We need to sweeten the pot to get him here. Our pen would be sick if we could get him.[/quote]

Where does it say that?

So that left one team (Boston) that wasn't on Gagne's list of approved teams he could be traded to and a second team (Milwaukee) that could.

Apparently it doesn't matter now.

Let's make it happen. Gagne+Coco would be a dominating 1-2 punch.

From the wiretap:

FoxSports - The Red Sox are on the verge of winning the Eric Gagne sweepstakes, pending his approval and a review of his medical records, according to major-league sources.

Gagne must waive his no-trade clause to Boston for the deal to be completed. It is possible the Red Sox will allow him to share the closer's role with Jonathan Papelbon.

The Rangers had discussed trading Gagne to the Mets, Yankees and Brewers. He could have been sent to each of those teams without his permission.

Gagne could reject the deal because of his desire to remain a closer with the Rangers rather than share the role with Papelbon or become his setup man

Boston and Texas have made the deal, if Gagne removes no trade clause, per ESPN

With the trade the Red Sox have a great bullpen. Okajiima-Gagne-Papelbon. Hard to beat this team in the playoffs.

It also looks like they're going to nab Jermaine Dye...ending our run at him.

So...where do we look next? Dunn...Byrnes...Dotel?

They can also make a move after this deadline as long as the player passes through waivers

All indications point to the Crew standing pat with an hour+ to go.

That would be mildly disappointing.

True that it would not be a major deal, but they could still add a bench bat or bullpen arm...

This is hypothetical, but what do you guys think it would take for us to get Torri Hunter? Would it be Gallardo?
