Guy is a tiny OLB projected 2-3 rounder, reading up on him he was a do it all guy who played some RB, I just don't know.

Seems like the kind of guy who has no position in the NFL, and we took him round 1.

Im coming around a little still dont like it though, i wanted the guy the Ravens took. 6-5 WR who runs a 4.30 or something. hoping a WR falls to us in the 2nd.

he will be a OLB in the NFL, hopefully Davis and Luke coach him up. we picked him because of versatility not BPA or need.

I like the pick, I feel like he'll come in and be another wrecking ball running around in our defense. Should be set at linebacker for the next 10 years.

Did not like it when we made it and still do not like the pick. Did not fit a need and was not BPA so I do not understand the thinking.

College Football Focus charted Thompson as only 41st out of 58 linebackers in terms of stopping the run, with a 7.3 run-stop percentage, and said that he has “poor instincts” as a linebacker.  Yes, he forced a number of fumbles in the run game and has a nose for the ball, but he’s too easily moved out of position by larger blockers.  At only 6’0” and 228 pounds, he’s dramatically undersized for a linebacker playing close to the line of scrimmage.

That’s why many scouts suggest moving Thompson back to safety, where he showed those coverage skills as an occasional nickel back, but that’s almost all projection at this point.  His athleticism is impressive for a linebacker, but it leaves something to be desired at the safety position.  He only ran a 4.64-second 40-yard dash at the combine, and his 33.5-inch vertical jump and 117-inch broad jump were nothing to write home about, either.

I really cant believe they plan to play a guy that small at olb, we'll see how it goes I guess.

Devin Funchess another big slowish WR, used to be a TE. I guess we're saying "who needs speed, we're huge". I dont like that we traded 3 picks for him.

We could have had him without the trade and maybe even in the third round.

we're swinging for the fences with guys with potential. I like Devin, but not for 3 picks. still need RB,CB and OT (if there is any left)

Not to good. I am not a big fan of this draft. If you came to me and showed me our players without me knowing where we were picking I would say we did ok. Then show me what picks we started with and it makes it look so much worse. I am not saying they are going to be bad players but we should have had at least one more solid pick in this draft considering who we got and who what we started with.

Byrd is super fast and never had a QB who could hit him deep at South Carolina. Could be a diamond in the rough with his 4.28 speed.

He would be a huge addition to the team. He would make this a very good draft from my perspective. Right now I like the players and not the value but if you add Collins as a UDFA then it makes this period much better in my eyes.

I felt like we needed one more quality player than we got from this draft and picking him up would fill that void IMO.

Yeah Collins would be a great pickup, there is a long list of teams interested in him though.
