If we don't sign a starting RT then I'd like Tytus Howard or Kaleb McGary in round 3. If we do sign one then I'd like Calvin Throckmorton or Prince Tega Wanogho in round 7. William Sweet wouldnt be bad either at the end of the draft.

I know Nagy expressed support for Tabor, but I still feel he is the wrong guy for the job

Relying on Cohen to carry ST isn't going to help the Bears reach their full potential

The Bears Special teams was bad this year. Without a doubt. I think I remember reading somewhere before the season started that he was changing the fundamentals for Parkey and O'Donnell. Tabor and Parkey have to stay another year to see how the experiment will work out. And to let their contract play out

Harry Heistand may play a key role in this off-season. Two pro bowl alternates and a rookie LG who played just as well. Massie had a career year and it just happened to be the year Heistand came in. Witzman came in half way through the season and played at an average level.

I think Massie will be replaced with a young guy with upside. Or possibly a guy like Donald Penn who wants to come in and win a ring.

I also think if Long doesn't agree to restructure then he'll be gone. We paid Massie and Long around $14m combined this year. One was the weak link even with a career year. And the other was on IR for the 3rd straight year. Both will be 30+ at the start of the season. We can go another direction with how good this coach is.

Does the ST coach report to the DC? Would it be Pagano's call?

What's the compensatory pick for Amos if he signs with a different team?

I personally would like to keep Amos for somewhere bet 8-9 mil/yr. He's reliable, young player who keeps improving season by season.

Currently, I think that Kyle Long is the weak link of our O-line. That guy keeps getting beat on a weekly basis even when he's healthy. I would look to draft either a C or guard in the third round. Let that guy sit behinds Kyle Long for the first 5-7 weeks. We know that Long will get hurt eventually.

4th and 5h rounds should be used to pick bpa on either offense or defense. It doesn't matter the position. Those guys need to be contributors in 1 season.

I also hope that we packaged both 7th rounders to move up and draft a reliable kicker that will be with us for the next decade.

Doesn't look like the bears are projected to have any for 2019

So then we let Bryce walk? Slot CB is harder to replace

Assuming there isnt much money for free agents your decision may come down to Bush vs. McMannis. Which 2018-19 back up would you rather start next season?

Id rather see McMannis start at Slot than see Bush at Safety.

However I like Callahan better than Amos.

Keep in mind that video was taken Jan 25, if not earlier. So if it was an offer it clearly wasn't a done deal.

You are correct. Amos has not been signed. Wants more than market value

Its much harder to replace the slot DB than a strong safety right now and for the Bears our upcoming schedule makes the slot incredibly important. If Amos doesn't want to take the Bears offer there are several good veterans out there who we could make a similar offer to but having McManis is a huge step down from Callahan in coverage .

This^

Apparently its not out of the realm of possibility to get a Lamarcus Joyner for abit less than what Amos has been asking for. The market for safeties has not been good. Look at last summer for example and how long it took UFA safeties to land somewhere.

I think the Bears should release Chase Daniels, we could user the $ and I would rather have Tyler Bray as a back up.

Return to Chicago Bears
