Injuries are the only thing that are going to derail this season. But I'm not even worried about the regular season, it's the playoffs when we start underachieving.

I don't really see how you're better defensively. Have you forgotten how you guys kicked the ball around last Friday. Comparatively speaking:

LoDuca/Castro > McCann/Pena
Wilson > Degado (maybe)
Valentin > Orr/Woodward
Reyes > Renteria
Jones > Write (for now)
Alou >/= Langerhans/Thorman
Beltran = Jones
Francoeur > Green

If you're talking defensively:

McCann > Lo Duca
Wilson/Thorman > Delgado
Johnson < Valentin
Renteria < Reyes
C. Jones > Wright
Langerhans/Diaz > Alou
A. Jones > Beltran
Francoeur > Green

If you're talking offensively:

McCann > Lo Duca
Wilson/Thorman < Delgado
Johnson = Valentin
Renteria < Reyes
C. Jones > Wright
Langerhans/Diaz < Alou
A. Jones < Beltran
Francoeur > Green

The most important part of a defense is up the middle. If you admit that Reyes > Renteria, Valentin > Johnson and you have to admit that Beltran at least = Jones (they're co-gold glove winners), then the mets defense is better.

Sorry, Andruw is arguably the greatest CF all-time. Top 3 without a doubt.

Not appreciably better than Beltran to the point where it makes a difference...

Keep telling yourself that. Everyone in baseball would disagree.

Objectivity is not your strong suit. No one is arguing that Jones is not one of the best CFs in the history of the game. That doesn't mean that Beltran is significantly less talented. He did win a gold-glove last year so he could oviously play with Jones. To say that the Braves are better defensively because Jones is better than Beltran is stupid.

I don't think thats all he said.

A more interesting argument would be starting pitching matchups.

The Braves aren't even the second best team in the NL!

Let me be the first to welcome you to Dolphin Stadium, Florida. I'm sure the players will appreciate the 80 degree temperature.

Anyway, who wants to bet with me? Marlins-Mets play Wed and Thurs. If your team loses both games you can't post in RealGM for a week.

Anyone confident enough in their team? What about you bNhoe????

To be clear I think we'll split the two games. Also watch for Hanley to outplay his counterpart...what's his name? Gayes?

:D :D :D :D

P.S. It may rain Thursday night.

I'll take your bet and up the stakes. If the Mets win both and Reyes outplays Pansy Ramirez, you have to start every single future post with "The Mets Are My Daddies."

Deal..but only for 2 weeks...not forever. And if the Marlins win both games you have to begin every post with "Lets Go FISH!" in bold.

15 Games over .500... we need to make that big push for 20 games over .500..

A series sweep here vs the Phillies would be sweet.
BAF Suns

Chris Paul / Patrick Beverley / Shamorie Ponds
Buddy Hield / Timothy Luwawu / Stanley Johnson
Kendrick Nunn / Matisse Thybulle / Darius Miller
RJ Barrett / Kyle Kuzma / Dwayne Bacon
DeAndre Jordan / Kenrich Williams / DJ Wilson

Haven't seen you in a while. A couple wins and you're back talkin' smack, huh?

Despite the minor setbacks, I still say I'm not worried about the squaws, phillthies and least of all, the mermaids.

Marlins at .500 with a 31-31 record!

And we still lead the national league in runs scored! Once our pitching gets back, with our high-powered offense....unstoppable.
