yeah, you'd think that would have been an ideal entrance for Manny Parra--no pressure, big crowd, record the last couple outs....doesn't make any sense.

I dunno, I'm pretty confused (started to say flummoxed, then thought better of it).

I'll say that there's definitely some fire tho....

exactly...

We saw what happened when we threw Balfour over Turnbow last night so you'd think Yost would keep Parra out of that situation. Amirite?

Get off on this type of stuff..Ha. A bit inappropriate I'd say, never thought I'd hear Melvin mutter something like that.

Why would the Brewers trade away Wise? Don't they need all the RP help they can get? I mean you can never have enough good arms in the 'pen.

If this trade did happen to go down, what would Melvin do with around $11 million in OF's sitting on the bench? Jenkins and Mench would really be happy.

This trade never really made sense from the get go. It's always exciting to get that "Rob Deer" type player in the line-up during a pennant race, but it really doesn't make much sense.

It makes sense if we move some of our other OFs for other relief pitching.

I could see us moving Mench for a relief pitcher or two.

Mench is kind of a nice right handed option off of the bench. The guy is hitting for the most part when given a chance. Adding Dunn just adds another guy. I don't think the Reds have any interest in dealing for Jenkins. Plus I know its a business, but I think there is part of the organization that respects that Jenks has been thru some tough times and they'll be respectful to let him play out the year as a winner in Milwaukee. Hart won't get dealt. I don't think Gwynn will. I just don't see this as that logical from a personnel standpoint.

Well, if you look at it, other than today we've been struggling to put up runs and Dunn would help us in that department.

You know what. We need to go out and get another Dunne. Ryan Dunne.

I agree with you, but in all honesty what kind of RP do you really think the Brewers are going to get for Mench? I'm not trying to be mean here, but Mench is one of those players that the Brewers will probably only be able to get an Elmer Dessens type pitcher for (unless traded with prospects).

Torii Hunter wants someone like Mench in Minnesota. Might be able to get something decent back...

I don't want another big power, big strikeout guy. I realize he has a high OB%, but I would much rather have had Lofton, who has good defense, good OB%, and good speed on the bases. We need more guys like that.

At this point, I wouldn't mind an upgrade in the infield. Let Weeks sit, rest, and then do some work in AAA.

I would much rather have some help with bull pen and in the starting rotation . We already have a pretty damn good offense if we do make a trade for offense it will most likley will just be for experience not talent.

Jimmy Gobble in kc is a left hander who is pretty respectable and has allowed 0 runs vs left handed hitters.

I'm probably in the minority right now, but I still feel good about our starting rotation. Our 4 and 5 starters are solid, and like I said before the last starts of Cappy and Suppan, I really think they'll turn it around (it looks like they may).

Bull pen pitching is what we need. We just need one more guy.

I see the pen as the only realistic place we try to upgrade. There isn't any starting pitching worth going after, and realistically, LF isn't that bad with the Jenks/Mench platoon. If we can get an upgrade there for not a huge amount, go for it, but otherwise find another pen arm. We need another lefty specialist out there that is a better option than "Shousy."

He does dominate lefties. I wonder what it would take?

The Royals know they have the pieces teams want (Greinke, Dotel, Gobble) and they also know that the Market is bare this year therefore I see them holding trading partners hostage with outrageous offers. Gobble won't come cheaply and IMO he's not worth too much.
