Trade the First Round Pick Twice!

Post#1 » by theBigLip » Tue Apr 24, 2007 7:22 pm

Okay, so it's old news that we're going to trade with Tampa Bay. We give them Calvin Johnson at #2, and we get their #4 pick. Reportedly, we will then pick DE Gaines Adams. I think we should trade the pick and we still might get Gaines.

#3 - Cleveland is likely to pick Quinn.

We now have the choice of RB Peterson, OT Thomas, S Landry, or DE Gaines. Several teams are salivating over Thomas. If the Cardinals think we're going to trade away the rights to Thomas at #4, and they plan on picking him at #5, I bet we could extort a pick out of them. It may only be a third rounder, but WTF, let's get greedy. And we would still end up with Adams at #5 for sure.

Thanks for the correction. I've done a couple of things like that lately - I think I'm slowly losing my mind...

Anyway, I think we need as much help as possible. If we could do a couple of trades, it would bring us more players. My thoughts are that anyone drafted in the first three rounds should be players on the team.
