One thing I thought was interesting was the notion that the Cardinals wouldn't be taking a QB next spring because of how much money they have tied up in Murray. The dead cap hits are hilariously bad if they cut or trade him.

If they would look to trade the #1 pick, they could get a monster haul, obviously.

Well at least they are a well run organization so I'm sure they won't **** it up :)

Hell we could see an Eli Manning situation where it the Cards are picking one that dude makes a stink about going there.

True enough on all counts, but the first picks are also compensated handsomely (for rookies). Do you risk another under-paid year at college, instead of a larger guaranteed payday?

Also, at this point, how much of this is jockeying to force AZ to trade the pick for a team higher up the competitive food chain? Of course if Williams refuses to play in AZ, what does Harrison Jr. do?

If Williams stays in but doesn't want to play for Arizona, I don't think Arizona would have much of a problem trading down. The Murray contract is a legit issue to consider.

Lol, he's not passing up $30-40 million guaranteed right off the bat and going back to college. Not wanting to play for Arizona in particular is a legit gripe, but the initial threat of sitting out the draft is a bunch of hot air. This ain't the 70's-80's.

Jared Verse and Olu Fashanu would have been top seven picks last year and they came back. Williams is also the highest paid NIL athlete and already a legit millionaire. I don't think he comes back either, but he does have a lot of leverage to dictate where he goes.

Should still have three in top 50 (maybe even top 45), but yeah, that was at least a 25 pick injury last night.

Yeah, it would've been fun having two firsts to add to all the promising talent we've accumulated. There's just so much you can do with that ammo depending on where they would've been positioned maybe even moving up into the top ten for an elite prospect. An extra 2nd is still awesome obviously but just not quite the same possibilities open to us now.

I still think the Jets will be relatively competitive too. Strong run game, great defense, and Wilson is a top 5 WR. They won’t make playoffs but they are good enough to screw up the pick.

Yep this won't in the 30s. It's likely late 40s or so

As a sidebar, wait till the New York metro media tees off on Jets management for giving up some key draft capital for four downs of AR. Fair or not, you know they will....

Still a significant pick, at least.

Instead of ˜#25, we get ˜#40 and that's it.

It's a difference of 30 spots. That's a bummer.

I think it will be closer to 23-25 spots. 32 spots would be if the team played exactly the same without Rodgers verses with. 30 would basically mean zero drop off, which I don't think will be the case. Zach Wilson is terrible until further notice and no team is going to give them any kind of huge upgrade. That said, they still have an elite D and can lean on the RB and G-Wilson on O. I would be surprised if they make playoffs, but they also won't be top 10 bad.

There aren't any real worthwhile QBs out there right now anyway, right? Wentz might the best of a weak lot. That, and aren't the Jets also up against the Cap limit?
