I still believe this defense is super talented and is not being coached correctly. There is a few spots you could maybe upgrade (Savage) but they have a lot of talent there.

The offense has issues across the board including Rodgers.

More disco and gas shortages back then.

You youngsters obviously never saw Randy Wright at QB.

Sid, I had to laugh. If you go through the entire article Lynn Dickey is also listed as Tenn/Houston's worst QB.

Looks like my decision to go for a hike for my wedding anniversary instead of watching this game was a wise one.

This just isn't a good team on any level.

LaF's presser he talks about the offense the whole time and no mention of the D. The D is garbage, as usual. He basically said he has no answers.

The Defense may be under-performing, but the Offense has been truly useless.

Time of possession: GB 22min ( how many three&outs? How many third down conversions) - Wash 37min. Points scored: Packer Offence - 2 TDs - Washington 2 TDs, 2 FFGs. The Offense SUCKS!

Offense AND defense sucks. This was supposed to be the year we finally have a great defense. As bad as the offense has been, I'm actually more disappointed in the defense.

I'll agree the Defense has not been the machine that we were told to expect - not even close. A couple of things there though. In the second half of the last few games, the Offense has been so putrid that the Defense has to live on the field in the second half. Also, with the Defense, that looks to my amateur eyes as more fixable this season(**** Barry, or his approach).

The Offense is so broken, I'm real doubtful that can be fixed soon - even with a single trade for a primo reciever. Too many other things wrong. The O-Line has been inconsistent on pass protection, inconsistent on the run (Even with his bulk, Dillon is met at the line nearly every time by 2-3 defenders and Jones success comes once he gets past the front). The Recievers can't consistently get separation, and when they do - too many drops, or Rogers can't throw a catchable ball in too many cases (the old accuracy's not there - bad thumb, or Father Time?)

Add to that the Titletown District. Not gonna look like such a good idea when the barren years come. This isn't Wrigleyville or some other major city district.

At least he's honest haha. McCarthy would've mumble side mouthed through adjustments, stress, etc.

Exactly, look at the Broncos this season for example. Incredibly bad offense, plenty of 3 and outs but their defense allowed more than 17 points in regulation in only 1 game and in that game they allowed 25 points. Can say the same about the Bucs, the Cowboys this season and plenty of other teams historically. Seems like only in Green Bay you need to have a good offense otherwise the defense breaks downs.

I'm not making excuses for the offense btw, it has been absolutely dreadful but the defense hasn't been much better. The big issue though is the amount of draft picks invested in the defense in comparison to the offense.

Him coming back made a lot of sense on multiple levels. But then you don’t trade away one of the top 5 receivers in the game, and his security blanket, with nothing else on the roster.

I think the Defense has talent on it but it feels like it's missing those one or two guys who take over games and consistently make it really rough on offenses regardless of whether the defensive playcall on a particular play is perfect or not. Yeah we have guys like Gary, Alexander, etc. but we don't have Reggie White, Urlacher, Ray Lewis, or even guys like Charles Woodson and Clay Matthews that can skew a whole offensive gameplan and regularly ruin drives with individual plays.

If we want the defense to actually be able to carry the team week to week on the way to a superbowl and not just a .500ish record we need at least one and probably two players on the level of like when the Bears signed Khalil Mack, and I don't think they are currently on the roster.

This D would be more than good enough if the offense was still what it was, but they are nowhere near good enough to carry this verison of the offense the way Rodgers and the offense were carrying bad defenses all those years.

I'm w you on this.

Here's the thing - we haven't even targeted Watson on a pass like that since that play.

If we turn this thing around we need Watson to become the guy who can get open and catch bombs down field. Until then we are EFF'd

I understand why they trade Adams. It sucked but I figured they'd have something up their sleeve to somewhat replace him. I thought FOR SURE this was the year they'd take a WR in R1, ESPECIALLY since they had 2 1RD picks. Heck, maybe they'll even shock us and package them to move up in the 1st round to get a premier target.

Instead we end up with a guy in Watson who can't stay healthy, and another rookie who has shown flashes but has very suspect hands. And don't get me started on Gute failing, again, to upgrade the TE position.

Think we've just witnessed the end of this era.

Return to Green Bay Packers
