I won't argue much about the run defense, it's been putrid for years.

Losing Bakhtiari and Jenkins this early in the season is crushing (who knows when Jenkins can return). Newman and Myers aren't going to scare anyone and Runyan and Walker are works in progress. Tom is probably the best of the lot right now.

This was never going to be a smooth year for the offense.

They set him up to fail. You just have to hope he can weather it and come out better on the other side.

The defense didn't get a stop until it was basically too late and when they did, the special teams phucked it up. The 2 scoring drives happened after a big play that the refs should have stopped and before that when the Lions committed stupid penalties. Just disgusting all around.

Very similar to the Saints game, the difference is this time we didn't injure the opposing QB to help us complete the comeback.

Yeah, it is too bad they've so many injuries on the OL. That would have made life so much easier for Love. The Packers are missing 2 All-Pro OL. Not only are they dealing with injuries, they are dealing with injuries to two of the best OL in all of football.

Uh, have you seen the defense the Lions are playing? He's running for his life on nearly every play while they are rushing only 4. Even prime Rodgers struggled against defenses like that.

I'm talking about his whole body of work so far. Outside of layups, he's had like 5 good plays in 4 games and he had all the time in the world in the previous 3 games.

Meh. He's played very good football up to tonight given that it is his first year as a starter. The team is also absurdly young around him. They've also dealt with injuries to their two best OL, their best RB (by far), and their best WR. Prior to tonight, he has been excellent all things considered.

In this game, he had no chance with the OL play. The Lions could rush only 4, the CBs could play very aggressively, the LBs didn't need to concern themselves with the running game, and the safeties could just drop back. Love had no chance this game once it was obvious the Lions could consistently generate pressure with their front 4. Play action was also meaningless given the lack of a running threat.

Love was doomed this game, unfortunately.

The defense is straight garbage. And it's not just Barry's fault. Did either Clark or Gary do anything tonight? I wish I was kidding

There are only 5 1st round picks among the front 7 -- Clark, Gary, Van Ness, Wyatt, and Walker.

Gotta give Gootey at least 1 more top pick to devote to the D and I'm positive the Pack will have a top 15 D in 2024.

Can't wait.

I get the vibe from MLF that if he named the top 10 things that he thinks is wrong with the Packer's defense, Joe Barry's name would never come up.

MLF is a clown.

I'm all for putting some starters on ST's to help, but damn...It didn't help tonight.

What do you do with a Q. Walker? It's not his first time throwing a game away.

I guess you hope his decision making improves? He matures over the next 12-18 months?

Walker's gaffe accounted for a net difference of 4 points out of 34. Otherwise, he was the best defender on the field for the Pack. The Lions racking up 210 yards rushing was the game killer.

Q didn't throw the game away. He brought heat throughout the game, and he passionately wanted to do something special. It was stupid. But the abomination that was the first 2 quarters, especially Q1, threw the game away. This team was not ready to play, and that's why they lost.

Joe Barry:
Run defense; well certainly you have to be on your Ps and Qs
Pass defense; well certainly you have to be on your Ps and Qs
Make him homeless

I fully support MLF. I'm a fan but I expect tomorrow morning to sound "Aw shoot
I mean I guy like that, say what you want
Shoot, I'd hang my hat on a man like Joe barry"

Drop it please, please drop it

OK. I turned it on in the 4th quarter and saw that and his previous mistakes came to mind. Glad to hear he's been productive.
