Uh, have you seen the defense the Lions are playing? He's running for his life on nearly every play while they are rushing only 4. Even prime Rodgers struggled against defenses like that.
I'm talking about his whole body of work so far. Outside of layups, he's had like 5 good plays in 4 games and he had all the time in the world in the previous 3 games.
Meh. He's played very good football up to tonight given that it is his first year as a starter. The team is also absurdly young around him. They've also dealt with injuries to their two best OL, their best RB (by far), and their best WR. Prior to tonight, he has been excellent all things considered.
In this game, he had no chance with the OL play. The Lions could rush only 4, the CBs could play very aggressively, the LBs didn't need to concern themselves with the running game, and the safeties could just drop back. Love had no chance this game once it was obvious the Lions could consistently generate pressure with their front 4. Play action was also meaningless given the lack of a running threat.
Love was doomed this game, unfortunately.
