I’m an analytics guy, but analytics need to take in actual data from your team.

I was always OK with Chryst punting from the opponent 40 because our offense was terrible and the defense could make something happen.

There was also less than a 5% chance they score on that 4th and 1. They aren’t equipped to do it with a slow QB and especially no Allen. Probably aren’t winning this game either way but totally OK with the FG. Insanely high odds we are down 10-0 after going for it and might as well throw in the towel there as well.

Nah they had scored a TD if Locke makes a better throw or if Furtney could have held a block against a LB. Longo drew up some really nice stuff there so I'd have let him do it again. Odds are that was the best shot we are going to have to score a TD and we wasted it

Failing would've been a massive momentum killer as well.

Not getting a TD was a massive momentum killer

It made a 2 score game a 1 score game. You take that in that situation.

No you don't

If you’ve watched this team the past ~3 years, even with completely different styles, scoring inside the 5 or 10 against a defense with a pulse is an absolute chore. They will have a better chance to score if they reach the 15 yard line again and hope a WR gets free. I’m being a bit facetious but nothing I’ve seen tells me that was going to work on 4th down.

As someone mentioned earlier , why the hell are we in shot gun on the goaline ? Our center has displayed that he can't snap the ball with any speed which absolutely messes up everything !

So its more likely the offense would score twice than once? I doubt there's any analytic that supports that

Badgers being a 2nd half team now is fun

Yea 5% is exaggerating quite a bit. It was probably like 40/60 or so. I'm glad to be proven wrong that they marched down the field and scored a TD though. But I'd still have gone for it on the one, a lead would be real nice right now

I mean I was exaggerating/being facetious but what odds would you give a shotgun run with a dicey OL and Acker? Did we not watch the 4th and 1 Iowa play?

He has been burned multiple times tonight. He hesitated on that 3rd down play and didn't even get a hand on the running back.

If you aren't going to turn around and look for the ball, at least put your arms up.

These are simple things here.
