He doesn't have great speed, but then again, he won't need to in a Cover 2 system. He has real good coverage skills, and with safety help behind him, he should have a lot of success in the Cover 2 system. He's physical, and he should push Tim Jennings a lot for the nickel spot.

I'm very happy with the pick. They say he is a hitter and with great anticipation. Sounds like our kind of guy.

i wouldnt be surprised if he starts. with Harper and David gone, all that we have at corner is Marlin Jackson

I really like this pick, and think he may make a solid run at the starting position this season. He's a great coverage guy, and has great instincts. He also seemed like the type that that covers up for his lack of blazing speed with his instincts and coverage. What a hitter too.

Welcome EG to the Colts board, it's always nice to see a new face. I'm just curious to see where you've gotten the notion that the Colts are moving Marlin to safety? By every indication I've seen, the Colts have penciled Marlin in as a starting CB as long as Bob Sanders and Antoine Bethea stay healthy.

I know there's a question as to what his best position is, but I don't think he'd earn a starting job over Sanders or Bethea. I think Marlin and Giordano are the two injury replacements just in case, but I think we have to put Marlin at one of the corners just to get him on the field. Sure, safety may be his better position, but we need him at corner right now.

But Daymeion Hughes is a huge pickup, especially this late. I think he'll contend for the starting job in training camp and will be another one of the Bill Polian steal's we've talked so much about.

Daymeoin is going to be a really good player in this league. I think that he really adds depth to the cornerback position.
