The Miami Dolphins met with Oklahoma State receiver Dez Bryant on Thursday night in "a get to know you session" that will carry over until Friday, according to league sources.

The Dolphins, who pick 12th in the first round, could use a dynamic player such as Bryant, who is viewed by most evaluators as the draft's top receiver.

However, the Dolphins front office tends to stay away from high-maintenance players, especially when they are a receiver. They've even created a term for them, referring to the Terrell Owens' of the NFL as "diva receivas."

Here is a list of players I could see Miami drafting to fill holes on the roster. Keep in mind that I included our positions of need in order of importance such as OLB, WR, FS, NT, TE and CB.
I also included the round where I could see them being taken by us. I expect the Trifecta to double-down on some positions of need such as OLB and NT to build depth and raise the competition.

Dez Bryant WR 6'2 215 - Oklahoma State 1
Demaryius Thomas WR 6'3 229 - Georgia Tech 1-2
Arrelious Benn WR 6'2 220 - Illinois 2
Brandon LaFell WR 6'3 203 - LSU 3

Earl Thomas FS 5'11 202 - Texas 1
Reshad Jones FS 6'2 215 - Georgia 2-3
Morgan Burnett FS 6'1 210 - Georgia Tech 2-3
Chad Jones FS 6'3 218 - LSU 2-3
Major Wright FS 6'0 206 - Florida 3-4
Kan Chancellor FS 6'3 231 - Virginia Tech 4-5
Larry Asante FS 6'0 212 - Nebraska 5

Dan Williams - NT 6'3 327 - Tennessee 1
Torell Troup NT 6'3 314 - Central Florida 2-3
Cam Thomas NT 6'4 325 - North Carolina 3-4
Al Woods NT 6'4 309 - LSU 5-6
Jeff Owens NT 6'3 300 - Georgia 5-6
Kade Weston NT 6'5 325 - Georgia 7

Derrick Morgan OLB 6'4 270 - Georgia Tech 1
Brandon Graham OLB 6'2 270 - Michigan 1
Jerry Hughes OLB 6'2 255 - TCU 2
Koa Misi OLB 6'3 251 - Utah 2-3
Jason Worilds OLB 6'2 262 - Virginia Tech 2-3
Ricky Sapp OLB 6'5 240 - Clemson 3-4
Thaddeus Gibson 6'2 246 - Ohio State 5-6
Jermaine Cunningham OLB 6'4 266 - Florida 5-6

Jimmy Graham TE 6'6 256 - Miami 2-3
Aaron Hernandez TE 6'2 250 - Florida 3-4
Anthony McCoy TE 6'5 250 - USC 3-4
Ed Dickson TE 6'5 243 - Oregon 4
Andrew Quarless TE 6'5 252 - Penn State 6
Dedrick Epps TE 6'4 246 - Miami 7

A.J Jefferson CB 6'0 193 - Fresno State 6
David Pender CB 6'0 180 - Purdue 6
Patrick Stoudamire CB 5'11 206 - Western Illinois 7
Crezdon Butler CB 6'0 191 - Clemson 7
Sam Shields CB 5'11184 - Miami 7

Travis Goethel ILB 6'3 240 - Arizona State 6
Alex Parsons OG 6'4 309 - USC 7

Based on my list above, I predict our draft to go as follows:

1st Round #12: Trade back with Philly (who like Bryant, Williams, McLain and Morgan) for pick #24 + pick #37

1st Round #24: Brandon Graham - OLB - Michigan
2nd Round #37: Arrelious Benn - WR - Illinois
2nd Round #43: Jason Worilds - OLB - Virginia Tech
3rd Round #73: Reshad Jones - FS - Georgia
4th Round #110: Cam Thomas - NT - North Carolina
6th Round #173: Thaddeus Gibson - OLB - Ohio State
6th Round #174: Jeff Owens - NT - Georgia
6th Round #179: Andrew Quarless TE 6'5 252 - Penn State
7th Round #212: Travis Goethel - ILB - Arizona State
7th Round #219: AJ Jefferson - CB - Fresno State
7th Round #252: Alex Parsons - OG - USC

Yeah, I was bored :D

Myron Rolle has to be added to the list of possible safeties we would select. Not only is his a physical gift at his position but he is also a very smart individual.

With the Brandon Marshall move, my board might have to change a bit... :D

I like Myron Rolle too, just don't see him available for when we pick a safety (based on my board).

With Brandon Marshall on the team, I have to change my order. I like Earl Thomas/Dan Williams or trade back and get back a 3rd or 4th.

DUDE I THINK THIS is pretty darn good estimate, Even the trade! The only thing i see is instead of Jones in the third, I see Myron Rolle going there. I also think the possibility of adding a fifth or sixth for either Tyler Thigpen or Ted Ginn or both is likely. But besides that is a pretty good guesstimate IMO. Good Job!

Well, after getting Marshall, I doubt we spend another high pick on a WR so scratch Arrelious Benn
and put Jason Worilds OLB instead.

I'd go with McClain, and if they can't get him either move down or take Spiller. But I want McClain first and foremost, the dude is going to be a beast in the NFL.

I think it would be a major mistake to pass on McClain or Spiller if they are available when we are picking. I don't care what "needs" we have. if either of the two are the BPA's when we are selecting then you take one of them. Especially McClain....us passing on him will be reminisent of us passing on Patrick Willis for Tedd freaking Ginn. I don't like the Dan Williams guy from UT. Earl Thomas and Taylor Mays have to be thought of as well. It's the draft and we never know whats going to happen.

I agree! I personally wanted Bryant, but since he is outta the picture, i want either McClain or Spiller. and in the third i want Rolle! I

If I was the FO', I would trade back and get another pick in the 2nd or 3rd round. But if we stay with the 12th Pick I want Derrick Morgan, Dan Williams or Earl Thomas.

Anyone going to the Draft Party?

The Miami Dolphins will be hosting their Fins On The Clock Draft Party, on Thursday, April 22, at Sun Life Stadium from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Fans attending the Draft Party will have the opportunity to watch the NFL Draft live from inside the stadium, obtain player and alumni autographs, watch performances by the Miami Dolphins Cheerleaders, enjoy food, music and interactive games for the kids as well as a Dolphins equipment room garage sale to benefit the Miami Dolphins Foundation.

trade down to get back a 2nd and a 3rd or 4th, and one of Dan Williams or Brandon Graham, or Jared Odrick will still be there in the 20s. Our D needs work, not our offense in round 1 - no need for Spiller, when a Javid Best or other RBs can be had in later rounds.

Peter King says the Eagles may be looking to move up and mentioned us specifically as an option for them. Houston also may want to move up.

I know that our defense is a sieve, but taking Spiller at 12 is just so damn tempting. lol

If we could grab an OLB (Ricky Sapp? Jason Worilds?), a S (Major Wright? Reshad Jones?), and a NT (Jeff Owens? Torell Troupe?) in rounds 3-5 back to back to back, I feel I could justify taking Spiller in my own mind. And then as added insurance, we could use our buttload of 6th and 7th rounders on doubling up on those positions. Spiller fills KR/PR, which is a need this year, as well as RB, which will likely be a need next year.

That said, I wouldn't complain if we just took the biggest, strongest, fastest LB (Brandon Graham? Sergio Kindle?) available at 12.

I want Spiller if he's available. Too good of talent to pass on regardless of need.

My final Draft Day predition.

Miami Trades: #12 and 5th rounder for NYG OSI and 16th.

Dan Willaims, NT @ 16
J. Dwyer, RB @ 73
Jimmy Graham, TE @ 110
Ekom Udofia, NT @ 145

Miami ends up with a starting NT, OLB and possibly a starting RB(Also, I wouldn't be surprised to see R.Brown traded for a 2nd or 3rd round pick).

How bout our #26 plus a 3rd rounder for #12? We need McClain after you took Dansby. Basterds.

I read somewhere (can't remember where so I can't post link) that NFL front offices uses a "chart" that gives values to each draft pick and helps determine fair compensation. Based on that chart, someone wanting to move from a low-to-mid 20's position to our 12th pick would have to trade their 1st rounder PLUS a mid 2nd rounder.

IMO, Philly fits perfectly with their 24th pick plus they have two 2nd rounders. I hear they are in love with Thomas also.
