I feel the same way. Defense played really good today and are probably spent anyway. Plenty of long drives defending and watching Vikings offense go 3nout.

so apparently the blocked field goal was a penalty that they picked up the flag on

so that's not great

Cousins has no chance with this group right now. But there was a time in this league where if your starter was just getting nothing done a backup QB is brought in to at least try to spark something. You can't just give games away without trying to adjust.

Yeah and their retired ref agreed it was illegal move. That penalty is usually automatic because it's almost impossible to leap a line without some kind of push off. It doesn't take much of a push off to get over.

I love this game commentator calling it like it is on ZImmer and Flippo. And especially pointing out that Zimmer has had this trouble with many OCs now.

There is no logic behind that statement, but you aren't the first to say it.

It doesn't matter if you are paying him 90% of your cap, if he's doing nothing he's doing nothing. It hurts nothing to pull nothing out of a game. It doesn't cost them more money to sit him down for 1.5 quarters. The only thing it hurts is the ego's of those that paid him 84 million. But that's not part of the football game. Only the games matter. Then the next game he's back starting so who cares? It's just part of football to spark if needed.

The drive to the endzone after halftime I guess you could point to as a positive sign to keep him in. They moved forward enough there. But the jokes just kept coming. They needed a spark attempt.

Make no mistake about it. None of the players believe in these coaches designing this offense right now.

cook didn't get the 20 carries zimmer desired, so look for more complaining from zimmer about not running enough

I can't believe how much I liked these broadcasters talking tonight. Don't know their names. At first I disliked because they were all seakawks this and that endlessly. But they were very fair during the game and objective. They called out the bad ref calls, they called the Vikings coaches out for what they are. Enjoyed that part of the broadcast anyway.

 probably

Defilippo can just run him 20 straight times next week and solve that. Might take 5 drives but he'll get it sooner or later.

I remember Norv running Adrian Peterson 5 plays in a row, then he ran the backup RB 3 more plays in a row while Adrian was resting. Then they kicked a fieldgoal. I'm telling you, that is the offense Zimmer wants. We just don't have the runningbacks or line to runblock well enough.

Don't get me wrong I think Zim played a part in turning around this defense. I still remember the Frazier defensive days. But I think it's clear as day that he's not a head coach. I give big props to HCs like Nagy and McVay do it right. It's clear as day they know their game is offense and they let their DCs run their game plan.

I'm just done with this group running the team. They clearly overlooked one of the most if not the most important position with the offensive line for so long.

Zimmer should be happy and sleep well tonight. A game that was 3-0 and 6-0 for the majority is much better than 45-55, right Zimmer?

Zimmer is coming off a 13-3 season, I don’t know why people are so anxious to push him out. Of course we fired coaches after our last 2 NFC championship seasons, people get their expectations up and get reactionary.

Zimmer did more than play a part creating this defense. This defense is 100 percent his.

absolutely, I'm with you.

I think everyone should just stop watching this season. No one is going to tell Zimmer he's wrong about ruling over his offense like he does or teach him what an Offensive line needs to be to play at this level. He's not a head coach that knows anything about offense. He either needs to stay completely out of it, or the team needs a new Coach that is more complete. He's a great defensive coach. Nothing more.

Honestly I would more apt to blame Spielman, he’s the one who’s ignored the offensive line and the one who chose the QB.

I think he's admitting that already. The thing is it doesn't matter, because he helped break the offense year after year.

The thing is this defense played well for most of this game. But that hasn't been the norm this season. It's his defense and it's stunk as much as it's been good this season. Meanwhile the offense always gets worse as the season rolls on. The Oline constantly fails to perform or get better. These are problems the head coach has his stamp on.

It's the big elephant in the room for sure. I just see them both being their own big problem these days.
