As a Magic fan, I rarely end up on the Pacer board, so I did not know PF personally and only vaguely through realgm. But, seeing how much of an impact he had on this board was jarring to me and speaks volumes about the man. This is truely sad news and my condolences go out to his friends, family, and the entire realgm community (and specifically the Pacer board) who were lucky enough to be graced by his presence.

Sigh. I haven't been here in forever, not even as a lurker due to various reasons (one of which not even being able to see the Pacers on TV) and the first thread I see is this one and I am blown away. Don was one of the good guys, a genuinely decent and classy human being. I still have PMs from him that I'll never delete. I only knew him here in this virtual cyberspace, but that didn't make him (or any of you) any less "real" to me. So naturally his passing brings a real loss as many of you have acknowleged and expressed.
There not more I can add to all the great things already expressed here. I really regret not posting more. Don't any of you other guys go passing away on me without giving me some kind of notice.

I didn't know PF personally but I know from lurking about the forum that he was a very well respected and friendly guy. It's insane because myself, IndySports and our other friend were actually having a discussion about PF, a man that we had never met nor even spoken to online. That should say something about the impact that he had on here and the type of guy that he was. Having lost my Father to lung cancer on December 19th of this past year I know how hard it is to see someone you love go through that ordeal and my heart goes out to Don's family. May he rest in peace.
Feel the rhythm! Feel the rhyme! Get on up, it's bobsled time!

Wow, I just looked at my old PMs and the only ones I had was back from September 2005 from pacerfan. He saw a message about me wanting to get tickets to a Rockets-Pacers game because I live close to Indiana, and sent me links and the ticket master promo for season ticket holders to purchase tickets and helped me find close and cheap places to park. He was very kind to a complete stranger that was going to be rooting against his team. I didn't know him outside of that experience with him, but he was obviously a great person. That's terrible that this happened to him.

I had not even so much as glanced at these boards in around a year and had no idea. Pacerfan was a great mod that was always on top of things. Not only was he a smart and articulate poster but truly a great mod, flatout. He and Charc always had this board taken care of and organized. I am a bit late but RIP pacerfan...

I really want to know what Pacerfan would have thought of our rooks. A tremendous loss.

I would have loved to hear (or read) what PacerFan would have said after tonight's game against Boston. He would have been on cloud nine. Instead, he's watching from there...
+ PF
"If Jack makes that shot, the game is over." - Tommy Heinsohn after Jarrett Jack missed a shot at the buzzer of a 105-105 game between the Celtics and Pacers.
