RIP pacerfan. You "paid it forward" and I'm sure your influence and kindness will carry on even after your death.
You made a real impact. God Bless.

Condolences to the Bardon family, and RealGM posters who were close with Don. This is very sad news, I think I missed knowing quite a character guy.

WOW. This is a total shocker. I had no idea how old he was or if he was sick. I must have missed those threads. But "pacerfan" was always a great poster and i too figured he was just too busy to come to these boards. It's hard to get to know people personally over the internet so i didn't know. Hearing this is very sad. He was a very intelligent Pacers fan, had lots of passion and even though i'm still new to this forum, it was a great pleasure for me to get to know him, even though it was only from the basketball side of things.

He will be missed for sure. He was a great mod. His posts were always full of detail and he was always positive. Even when the one guy drafted an all Pacers team in fantasy basketball, and admitted it was a mistake, pacerfan offered to help and gave advice how to turn his team around. I thought that was really cool of him and that was one of the things that stood out for me.

Sad day for Pacers land. Rest in Peace, Pacerfan! You will be missed. I miss you already.

My prayers and best wishes to his family.

I have read far more than I've wrote over the last couple years, but I know class when I see it and Pacerfan was the personification of it. My Prayers are with his family.

I was doing some work today and thought about going back through some of the PMs I exchanged with Don over the years here as Pacer Mods...this one stuck out.

A little set-up, I had just sent messages to Count, PF and Scoot that I was thinking about making a trip out to Indiana this spring to see a game with the gang. Due to a series of events, that never took place...Lord, do I regret it:

pacerfan wrote:I'm hoping to see you and get to a game with you folks. That would be more than great. Might even buy a ticket and a couple of beers for you for one of the games, if you really make it.

I guess the schedule is not out yet, so you don't know what games you are selecting?

Keep me posted.

Don

I will get out to Conseco soon...and he'll certainly be at the forefront of my mind.
