Wow the first shot of the Miami stands are very empty.

I expected to get swept in Miami. Good first half.

Good through 3 quarters then the veteran Jimmy Butler started doing his thing of drawing crazy fouls. Their rookie Jacquez got going. Duncan Robinson couldn’t miss and Buddy couldn’t hit a 3.

Miami and a few other teams play physically and the league allows it, yet the Pacers haven’t mastered matching that defensive intensity let alone enough to win more.

I expected a loss but it’s disappointing to hear Quinn talk about the coaches are repeatedly emphasizing in practice establishing a defensive first attitude and the results are not showing in games.

I don’t know if the scheme is wrong or if the players (who are lacking) aren’t capable and can’t defend, but it has to change to win consistently in this league.

Turning into a very frustrating team to watch self destruct.

Also another game where they were out rebounded 48-34 and shot 25% from 3 vs the heat’s 38%.

I’m getting to the point where if Buddy isn’t a difference maker by hitting 3’s then he’s not worth extending and should be dealt at the trade deadline.

Really strange his inconsistency now that he’s replaced Mathurin back in the starting lineup. His percentages/stats are comparable to LY and career.

Pat Riley's teams fouled constantly knowing they wouldn't all get called.

I'm happy with a split. Now back to football.

Go figure. No Tyrese although no Adebayo for Heat and the scrappy Pacers showed up tonight for the split.

Very good win keyed by Brown, McConnell, Nesmith, and Toppin leading the scoring with 20 points or more. Turner and Mathurin also in double figures. Double doubles for Turner and McConnell.

McConnell, Toppin, Brown, Nesmith, and Turner were all very good defensively tonight. First game the Heat fouled out Nesmith and Nembhard. In contrast to the first game tonight Lowry was held in check with only 4 points and the Pacers fouled out Duncan R.

Great effort when they could have just showed up to take an L. Nice boost heading home for Celtics in the tournament semi finals next week.

Brown was incredible tonight. I can see why the Pacers were so high on signing him last summer. He took over the game, wanted the ball, defended well, was a true leader out there. Good to see.

Pacers shot 30 for 38 in the 2nd half. Incredible.
