Mathias Kiwanuka is fine after opening injury:

OK, everybody take a deep breath and relax. Mathias Kiwanuka is fine.

I was already in the tunnel under the stadium when I heard he was injured on the last play of the Giants 16-7 win tonight, and I saw him walking gingerly toward the X-Ray room after the game with the trainers at his side. But he walked without a limp, both to that room and to the locker room.

And when he returned, he said he was “OK.”

A win, is a win, is a win...

'LOVED the first quarter... but we got too conservative on offense afterwards. The defense made me proud again. Even Carney's leg shocked me. But our offense needs to make more of our green/red zone visits.

And what's up with Strahan getting PAID to show up?! I hope the Giants offered it without asking. Otherwise, Mike needs to give that money to charity...

WOW. That was some game. I am HIGHLY impressed with this team. I want to say I was wrong about the team heading into the season, but it's still early. But hoo, these guys look GOOD! I'll wait for the stiffer competition before I start to feel real giddy...

John Carney should be our Kicker no matter what, Lawrence Tynes was just given a contract for making that kick into the Superbowl.

Good win, mixture of Giants under estimating the Bengals and Bengals played good as well. Giants may want to ease off with the blitzes as well.

Whew, that was harder than it needed to be. We CANNOT get too conservative with the offensive playcalling, I don't care how awful our opponent is. We need to mix Earth, Wind, and Fire up some more, it got way too predictable in the first half. But heck, a win is a win, is a win... so we need to rest up, as it's going to get considerably harder the rest of the way.

I kinda' agree about Carney, but it seems as soon as Tynes is ready, he's going to be our man. John's been perfect so far, and I can't complain about anything... even the kickoffs have been decent. I trust Reese to do the right thing, however.

WOOT! I am thoroughly impressed by this team. We look light years better than last year's Superbowl winner. I am just stunned. But it's still early. The meat of our sched. is still coming. Until then, we can just bask in the afterglow of a football orgasm...

It's just one game, should tick us off for the rest of the season. The defense got trashed though. It reminded me of the Lewis days. We didn't cause a turnover, register a single sack or even force them to punt. Even the Seahawks forced us to punt when we were destroying them. They moved the ball at will.

I think we need to address the LB corps in the upcoming draft, it's very poor right now.

Whew, I think we were fortunate today. We did just enough to win. I can't quite put my finger on why the offense stalls sometimes, but I think the playcalling is what's suspect. Sure, the defenses are geared up for us now, but we SHOULD be able to adjust to that, and compensate. Eli's got to do a better job too. We're dropping a lot of passes as well. And Bradshaw needs to hold onto the ball.

I thought the defense was good today. Blackburn filled in admirably for Pierce. Johnson's INT's were sorely needed. And we got lots of pressure on O'Sullivan. But I think our secondary is showing a lot of holes. Yes, it's partly due to the injuries in the linebacking unit. But the corners need to do a better job.

Despite the short kickoffs, I like Carney. I feel better with him kicking FG's, as opposed to Tynes. Until Carney starts to falter, I think we should keep him as our kicker. Hixon is going to make the Pro Bowl as the special teams guy. He's always making a play.

The teeth of our schedule is coming up. We were probably looking ahead, but we can't duck it now. I think these next 3 games will show who we really are. It's good we were able to fatten up on the weak part of our sched., because there are no gimmes from here on out.

This team seems to get carried away with calling the same plays on offense time and time again.

You know what? Eli calls a lot of audibles at the line anyway. But he hasn't gotten many of them right either. We've got to do a better job, on both counts. Because our schedule isn't going to give us any margin for error anymore.
