Aramis Ramirez's blast was key to the Cubs win tonight. Aramis is a solid athlete and the Cubs need to keep him around the club for a while.

He signed a 5 year extension, so he will be.

I don't understand. Going into this season I thought the Cubs would own the best record in the MLB.

They're lineup is amazing, pitching staff is pretty good. Why don't the Cubs have a record similar to the Red Sox?

The bullpen sucked at the beginning of the year.
We were losing 1 run games.
Zambrano hasn't been as good this year.
We aren't scoring runs
Other than that we are playing well.

And we hit 1 HR every 2 weeks.

Our leader in HR's has 19. Is our lineup really that amazing?

LF Alfonso Soriano
RF Cliff Floyd
CF Jacque Jones
1BDerrek Lee
2B Mark DeRosa
3B Aramis Ramirez
SS Ryan Therriot
C Jason Kendall

Pretty dangerous lineup.

It is until you realize Soriano doesn't get on base, Floyd's aged 10 years in the past two seasons, Jones is the definition of mediocre, Lee's power has dissapeared since his wrist injury...it's just much better on paper than reality unfortunately.
