I think most Jets fans would be ecstatic, myself included...but I'd also prep to argue with people who would be like "What about the QB though  "

Any idea what the haul would be for Wilkerson if he were to be traded? I'm not advocating the notion but it would be foolish not to listen to offers. According to Dr. Andrews Ray will not require surgery on his foot. If he drops to the Jets in the second round it would be a steal.

Hard to day. Revis got the Jets the 13th overall pick and a conditional pick in the next draft. Wilkerson isn't quite in the Revis level. I would say maybe an early-mid 2nd round pick and a pick swap of some sort?

I really hope we don't trade Wilkerson...it's gotta be something else.

To Bowles's credit, he did this last year in Arizona. In a hybrid 3-4, I would love to see what Richardson, Harrison, Williams, and Wilkerson can do on the same line. :droop:

Just got back from work. So what's the consensus? Williams seems like a pretty special defensive end. What does that mean for Mo Wilkerson though?

Leonard Williams is considered by many to be the best player in the draft (let alone at 6). With Bowles's history, I think it means Jets for now just add strength to strength and if they can't get anything done with Wilkerson by season's end, they have no problem letting him walk.

cant really knock the pick, its BPA and many think williams overall was the best player in the draft...still kinda annoying it seems we have been picking DLinemen forever now

so who you all want in the 2nd/3rd

even with his issues cant help but love the talent on DGB, wasnt high on Gregory but you gotta consider him as he fills a need

Leonard Williams is a steal. I thought the Redskins were going to pick him for sure at 5. If Williams can come close to fulfilling his potential were talking perennial Pro Bowl lineman. Their frontline could be just nasty.

Randy Gregory might be too hard to pass if he's still on the board.

There's a couple of super talented potential trouble makers in DGB and Collins. Will be interesting to see when/where they get selected.

Yeah a 6'5" 235lb WR with big hands and a huge wingspan that can run 4.35 is hard to not like. If he didn't have all the offcourt problems and hadn't had to sit out all of last season he'd have gone early in the first. Super high risk high reward type.

Devin Smith, great pickup. Cimini gave the very nice fact that Ohio State was 22-0 in games which Smith scored a TD, which would suggest his success is conducive to winning.

Not disappointed with the Devin Smith pick. Was intrigued by Dorial Green-Beckham but the off court and character issues are huge concerns. Overall talent and upside DGB was better but may be a bit too risky. Devin Smith has been compared to slightly slower DeSean Jackson game wise and has a rep as an intense competitor. He also is a much better fit with the Jets current receiver corps. Not sure if he qualifies as BPA (DGB may still have been that) but he averaged something like 28 yards per catch and is a legit deep threat. Also appears quite grounded and intelligent.

I like the Leonard Mauldin pick (Louisville in the house!!). Mauldin (nicknamed "Predator") is a physical, intense, hard hitting OLB. He's a competitor that never stops. He's a leader and a guy you go to war with. Mauldin is the type of player that the Pats and Belichik would pick that turns out to be a huge factor in winning games. He may not be the biggest or most athletic LB left on the board but he could turn out to be one of the best coming out of this draft. The consistent praise is that he's a guy that never gives up and never backs down. A guy with elite character and ability to handle adversity.

The Jets appear to be focused on high character guys that also are fierce competitors. Can't ever be upset about that.

I like the Bryce Petty move. I like the way he thinks, I just hope a year under Fitzpatrick and learning the offense helps him develop into a legit starter.

That Mauldin pick will definitely be an on the low better pick we made. Strong value at 82 I thought.

Leonard Williams pick is a slam dunk. best player in the draft, gives us a "4 aces" look similar to what the giants did with their front in '07-'09. dont get caught up on 3-4. Bowles played nickel or dime on 68% of the snaps last season. you will see a ton of 4 man lines, all 4 will play on all passing downs for sure.

Bowles ran 4-2-5 look a ton last year with 4 donwn lineman, 2 linebackers, 3 corners, and 3 safties. he ran that a ton even on first down. we have the personel to do the same now.

I'm ok with the devin smith ick bu would have prefered someone who makes people miss as opposed to running away from them. our ofense lacks a guy you can dump a short one to who can juke a couple guys and make a big play. but we needed speed either way

Mauldin was a great pick. the guy will be the leader of this defense by week 9. he was a born leader of men and dude can make plays in the backfield for sure. can wait to watch this defense play
