Team Needs (According To NFL Draft Countdown)

Post#1 » by JurassicJake » Fri Feb 8, 2008 11:11 pm

1. Nose Tackle: Dewayne Robertson has done an admirable job but he has been playing out of position at nose tackle in a 3-4 so they're going to have to add a run stuffer in the middle of the "D".
2. Outside Linebacker: Bryan Thomas took a step backwards in '07 and Victor Hobson is a free agent who isn't expected back so they need to bring in a true stud pass rusher to be their Willie McGinest.
3. Offensive Line: Anthony Clement is just an average starter at right tackle and they really had nothing but trouble at left guard since trading away Pete Kendall following an ugly contract dispute.

I agree with list but I think MLB would be fourth. With Vilma essentially gone, it is going to be key they get players that can play in the 3-4. Vilma cleary is a great talent, but just as clearly as that, he doesn't fit in the 3-4.

If Gholston falls, and I think he will, jump all over him. He's not only a need but likely the best player available at that point. Ellis could be considered but I don't think he's a good fit for that defense. Pat Sims or Gosder Cherilus could be under consideration for your 2nd round pick.

I also think we'd need a WR. Since I think Coles will be gone and we'll have no one else besides Cotchery and Smith isn't even 3rd WR material. He's a situational WR.

It is too early to tell and he can't be fairly evaluated with last seasons OL. Give him another year and then take Tebow with the top pick in 09.

I like Tebow, but I think he has bust potential in him as well.

And yeah give Clemens 2 more years. But I think management will give him 1.

Who in the college ranks would you suggest over him right now?

To be honest, no one. But college is different from the NFL. I love Tebow, (especially because of the fact that he was born in the Philippines) but I just think that he's a high risk-high reward kind of player.

I hope he proves me wrong.
