Raiders coach Lane Kiffin and his offensive and defensive coordinators make a concerted effort to rotate players in and out of the projected starting units, with only the offensive line remaining intact.
Coupled with injuries to players such as defensive end Derrick Burgess, it is difficult to get a feel for how the Raiders starting lineup will look against the Arizona Cardinals on Saturday night, let alone Sept. 9 in the regular-season opener against the Detroit Lions.
That is expected to change Tuesday when the Raiders release their depth chart for the first time. Also, Burgess is expected back around that time.
Between now and Saturday, Kiffin has to decide whether to start incumbent Andrew Walter or Josh McCown at quarterback

Walter is starting today! He looked very good against Arizona last week, though I'm sure it was vanilla, 2nd string defense thrown at him.
As long as Russell is unsigned I think Walter will be here... and in fact I wouldn't be surprised if either McKown or Culpepper (whichever is not the starter) were cut before Walter. Both of those vets are vying to be the starter, and are likely to grumble sitting on the bench in their supposed "make good" contract years.
Plus it wasn't too long ago that Walter was "the future." I think Al Davis wants to give him a year to regroup, and see what he's got.
Tui was here for the length of his contract, why not Walter?
