PITCHING MATCHUP

Jake Westbrook, RHP (0-1, 7.36)
Image
Westbrook hasn't had his characteristic command in two starts this season. He's walked seven batters and given up 12 hits over 11 innings. On Wednesday night against the Angels, in Milwaukee, he allowed three runs, two of which were earned, on five hits with four walks and four strikeouts over six innings. He kept the Indians in the ballgame, but the offense didn't do much to support him as he suffered his first loss.

vs

Chase Wright, LHP (0-0, -.--) MLB DEBUT
Image
Wright leads the Eastern League with 19 strikeouts in 14 innings and is on the Yankees' 40-man roster.Wright has been scouted to rely on a fastball that clocks in the low-90s, a plus changeup and a curveball which has been gaining consistency.

He had success in his first two starts this season at Double-A Trenton, firing 14 scoreless innings and striking out 19 while walking just one. While big-league hitters are a different batch than Eastern League opponents, Pettitte said the most important battle Wright could face might be with himself.
Image
"The biggest thing is that you just can't change what you've been doing," Pettitte said. "He's been successful. It's all about making pitches, that's it. If you put the ball in a good spot, you're going to get guys out. Obviously, these guys are better hitters, but it's just making quality pitches." "He's going to be tense, he's going to be hyped up," Pettitte said. "The biggest part is trying to relax yourself out there."

I'm pretty excited about this game. Hopefully the Indian players aren't into a groove yet with their crazy schedule and we can take full advantage of it. I am really excited about Chase Wright pitching. -Jitpal

Bobby is still wearing a Phillies jersey? How long does he have to be a Yankee?

Finally it's time to see what one of our prospects can do.

Wright has no control on his fastball... it's gonna hurt eventually if it keeps up.
