So we give up our closer and our best hitting prospect for an underachieving outfielder and some prospects?

In my opinion, we're only moving Salty for what we consider a sure thing, i.e. a proven starter who can help us win now.

The Braves would spend weeks laughing at that deal. Believe it or not, the Braves really don't see having both McCann and Salty as being a problem. Salty's work at 1B should make it even clearer.

Honestly speaking I don't see Salty being dealt. Bobby is already plugging him in the lineup and sitting McCann even when McCann doesn't need the rest. So the development is already beginning, and as soon as he gets a grip on playing first he will be a regular in the lineup in the seventh hole.

If we got rid of Salty and our closer, I assume it would be for more than the load of crap which you just offered.

If this was MVP Baseball 2004 for X-box, i would totally accpet this trade. Willy Moe had 95 power aginist lefties. Lets just hope JS doesnt play that.

I like Salty's potential far more than Willy Mo's. And he's already good at fielding his position. Willy looks lost in the OF.

Mike Bowden is exceptional, though. He'd instantly be your best pitching prospect and Manny Delcarmen has the ability to be a good setup man.

I'll reiterate the demands for Salty. The only way it pays for the Braves to trade him is for a future ace who can contribute now. Also, the Braves do have some rather nice pitching potential in Matt Harrison and Dan Smith but the problem there is that Harrison is at AA and Smith just made his debut AAA start. After seeing what happened when Kyle Davies was rushed to the majors 2 years ago many fans myself included are hoping the same doesn't happen to these 2.
