Though again, I wonder (without having studied it that much) how much of Woolen is just physical potential and how much he'll realize. But he's in a great situation with Carroll, and he's the sort of physical specimen that Carroll has repeatedly turned into an excellent player.
Looks like the kid is making the most of his opportunities. As said, no doubting his physical abilities, and he landed in about as good a situation as he could have to develop those. He could have a very bright future.
Another!

Re: 2022 ROOKIES
Hahaha. Had a feeling this was coming.
I maintain that it was high for a RB on a team with so many holes, but Walker has been great. The Hawks have been really impressive this season in general, with the improvement on D particularly impressive (granted they have had some major liabilities on that side of the ball, and there are legit questions about the caliber of opponent).
Their defensive backfield in particular has come on strong, though again, they've faced a pretty incredible run of teams with issues at the WR position in the Giants, Chargers absent their top two guys, Cards (Brown went down in this one, but it was really late in the game), Lions without St. Brown, and Falcons- who have two good receivers, but don't play that way.
I was posting in another thread that I really don't like Pete Carroll, but he's a great coach. His teams almost never underperform. He gets the absolute best out of the guys he has, and the Niners feel like the opposite sometimes. All this talent, but they can't execute. Totally respect the job he's doing in Seattle this year, and the Hawks concern me as challengers in the division. I would have laughed at that at the beginning of the year.

The frustrating thing is that they start out the year poor defensively. Then several games in they make the necessary adjustments & start to gel as a unit. It's become a pattern over the last 3-4 years.
Pete is at his best when he's the underdog & everyone has written him off. He's always been great at motivating younger guys who have a chip on their shoulder & have something to prove. It also why he was so good in college.
In hindsight, they should have reset (the roster) a few years ago. Pete thought he could win with Wilson. But the writing has been on the wall for a couple of years now. The break from Wilson & the old guard was long overdue imo. Pete would likely say the same thing if you asked him.
