TERRACE MARSHALL
WR, CAROLINA PANTHERS

Terrace Marshall caught 3-of-6 targets for 26 yards in the Panthers' Week 1 win over the Jets.

Marshall was involved throughout the game, and finished second among wide receivers in targets behind only D.J. Moore. Although he only turned in three receptions for 26 yards, it was a decent debut for the rookie. He may enter the FLEX conversation if he can show similar target volume in the Panther's Week 2 game against the Saints.

AMON-RA ST. BROWN
WR, DETROIT LIONS

Amon-Ra St. Brown caught 2-of-4 targets for 23 yards in the Lions' Week 1 loss to the 49ers.

The fourth-round rookie was third among Lions' receivers with his four targets, and Jared Goff actually missed him down the right side on what should have been a red-zone touchdown in the first quarter. Still, there's little reason to think St. Brown will be any sort of fantasy difference maker in an offense dominated by the running backs and T.J. Hockenson.

JARET PATTERSON
RB, WASHINGTON FOOTBALL TEAM

Jaret Patterson rushed twice for nine yards in Washington's 20-16 Week 1 loss to the Chargers.

Patterson subbed in for Antonio Gibson in the fourth quarter after Gibson had his shoulder checked out by the Football Team training staff. He would appear to be the team's primary running back should Gibson miss time in 2021. An impressive preseason saw Patterson -- an undrafted free agent out of Buffalo -- surge up Washington's depth chart. Zero RB drafters should roster Patterson if possible.

WR, HOUSTON TEXANS
Nico Collins

Nico Collins caught 1-of-3 targets for seven yards in the Texans' Week 1 win over the Jaguars.

Collins was also involved in a pair of pass inference calls, including a questionable one going against him that would have been a touchdown. The Texans rotated their receivers behind Brandin Cooks, with none of them going over 35 yards. It may take a few weeks for Collins to establish a regular role in the Texans' run-heavy offense, but the talent is there for him to run away with the No. 2 job.

KADARIUS TONEY
WR, NEW YORK GIANTS

Kadarius Toney did not receive a touch in the Giants' Week 2 loss to Washington.

Toney and fellow wideout Kenny Golladay were visibly upset on the sideline Thursday night while the Giants went back and forth with Washington. Toney, who played 19 snaps Thursday night, stormed off after head coach Joe Judge pulled him aside in the third quarter and spoke to him briefly. After the game, Toney posted to Instagram: “i don’t be mad, s—t just be lame to me." The 20th overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft missed most of training camp with COVID-19 and was hardly utilized in New York's opener against Denver, catching both of his targets for -2 yards. Toney should only be rostered in the deepest fantasy formats.

DYAMI BROWN
WR, WASHINGTON FOOTBALL TEAM

Dyami Brown caught 3-of-6 targets for 34 yards in Washington's Week 2 win over the Giants.

It was a step up from Brown's one-grab Week 1, while Pro Football Focus charted him playing over 60 snaps, the second most in WFT's receiver corps. He was essentially an every-down player. It is going to be hard for deep threat Brown to be a target compiler behind Terry McLaurin and Logan Thomas, but his usage and big-play upside make him worth keeping around on the end of benches in 12-team leagues.

DEVONTA SMITH
WR, PHILADELPHIA EAGLES

DeVonta Smith caught 2-of-7 targets for 16 yards in the Eagles' Week 2 loss to the 49ers.

Despite the poor stat-line, Smith leading the Eagles with seven targets is highly encouraging. He led the Eagles with eight targets in Week 1 as well. It didn't take long for Smith to establish himself as the favorite target of Jalen Hurts. The two played together at Alabama and their experience together appears to be paying off in the pros. Hurts was erratic in Week 2 and underthrew Smith on a long ball but the volume is tantalizing. In a softer matchup with Dallas next week, Smith can be comfortably viewed as a WR3.

ELIJAH MOORE
WR, NEW YORK JETS

Elijah Moore caught 4-of-8 targets for 47 yards in the Jets' Week 2 loss to the Patriots.

Moore's eight targets were second on the team to Braxton Berrios' 11 out of the slot. Moore now has five catches for 44 yards on 12 targets through two weeks. Keelan Cole's return from a knee injury had no effect on Moore's role, as Cole wasn't targeted in the pass game. Moore will be a WR4/5 next week against the Broncos. This offense is stuck in the mud out of the gates.

KENNETH GAINWELL
RB, PHILADELPHIA EAGLES

Kenneth Gainwell rushed six times for 14 yards in the Eagles' Week 2 loss to the 49ers, adding two catches for 18 yards.

Gainwell also scored a two-point conversion near the end of the game. Boston Scott did not see a touch for the second straight game. Having cemented himself as the RB2 in Philly, Gainwell could work himself into a role that warrants FLEX consideration, even with Miles Sanders healthy. For now, he's an interesting stash but will struggle to be a consistent fantasy contributor. Gainwell should be rostered in all leagues and Scott can be placed on the waiver wire without hesitation.

ANTHONY SCHWARTZ
WR, CLEVELAND BROWNS

Anthony Schwartz went catchless on one target in Cleveland's Week 2 win over the Texans.

The pass was intercepted and it did not appear that Schwartz and Baker Mayfield were in sync on the throw. Hamstring issues kept Schwartz to limited practices this week, perhaps that's a convenient excuse or perhaps it's a real issue for the raw third-round rookie. He remains in a situation where targets could be coming if Odell Beckham and Jarvis Landry are not fully recovered for Week 3's bout against the Bears, but this game is a compelling flag to just let that play out on its own before you trust him in your lineup.

PAT FREIERMUTH
TE, PITTSBURGH STEELERS

Pat Freiermuth caught all four his targets for 36 yards in the Steelers' Week 2 loss to the Raiders.

Eric Ebron, meanwhile, did not get a target against Vegas. Freiermuth has seemingly taken pass-catching duties all to himself -- not that that makes him a startable fantasy option in Pittsburgh's poor offense. Freiermuth should be rostered in tight end premium formats though.

JAYLEN WADDLE
WR, MIAMI DOLPHINS

Jaylen Waddle caught 6-of-8 targets for 48 yards in Week 2 against Buffalo.

Waddle was the leading receiver but finished behind DeVante Parker (9) in targets for the second straight week. The entire Dolphins offense was shut out and struggled to move the ball after Tua Tagovailoa (ribs) got carted off in the first quarter. Waddle's short-term value could take a hit if Jacoby Brissett is forced to start next week, but his Dynasty outlook is on the rise with Will Fuller's status with the team in question.

DEMETRIC FELTON
RB, CLEVELAND BROWNS

Demetric Felton caught 2-of-2 targets for 51 yards and a touchdown in Cleveland's Week 2 win over Houston.

Felton showcased a lot of juice on his catches, breaking tackles left and right and using a spin move to generate missed tackles. He's probably not on the broader fantasy radar just yet, but he showed enough to keep an eye on in deeper leagues, dynasty leagues, and could be relevant quickly in the event of a Nick Chubb or Kareem Hunt injury.

ELIJAH MITCHELL
RB, SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS

Elijah Mitchell rushed 17 times for 42 yards in the 49ers' Week 2 win over the Eagles.

Mitchell also saw two targets, both of which he caught for 11 yards. He got stuffed at the goal line and was forced from the game with a shoulder injury in the second half. After Trey Sermon and JaMycal Hasty went down on consecutive plays, Mitchell returned to the game. The statuses of everyone involved are unknown but Mitchell returning to the game should mean that he'll be available next week. Despite his inefficient outing versus the Eagles, he'll be a solid RB2 option versus the Packers if any of his backups remain sidelined.

JUSTIN FIELDS
QB, CHICAGO BEARS

Justin Fields completed 6-of-13 passes for 60 yards and an interception, adding 31 yards on 10 carries in the Bears' Week 1 win over the Bengals.

Allen Robinson dropped a touchdown on a beautiful ball from Fields. Besides that, it was a quiet day for the young gunslinger. He did flash his rushing ability, icing the game on a creative run late in the fourth quarter. Dalton's status for Week 2 is unknown at this point. Fields' dual-threat ability will put him in the top-12 conversation next week if the veteran can't go.

NAJEE HARRIS
RB, PITTSBURGH STEELERS

Najee Harris rushed ten times for 38 yards in the Steelers' Week 2 loss to the Raiders, adding five receptions for 43 yards and a touchdown.

Harris had another lackluster day on the ground behind one of the NFL's worst offensive lines. The Steelers' uncreative offensive game planning includes Harris slamming into the back of his guards and tackles on early downs. He was once again involved in the passing game, catching all five of his targets and saving his fantasy day with a second half touchdown grab. The rookie should continue to see almost the entire backfield load for the Steelers in Week 3 against the Bengals. He'll be a RB2 by default.

TREVOR LAWRENCE
QB, JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS

Trevor Lawrence completed 14-of-33 passes for 118 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions in Jacksonville's abysmal 23-13 Week 2 loss to the Broncos.

Lawrence led an 11-play, 83-yard scoring drive, capped with a 25-yard strike to Marvin Jones (6/55/1), to open the game but evaporated into the field from that point forward, tossing for 47 yards over the last three quarters; if it weren't for Jamal Agnew's 102-yard kick-off return with 5:25 remaining in the fourth quarter, the Jaguars would've gone scoreless the rest of the way, though K Josh Lambo did whiff two first-half tries. Sans a handful of deep shots to Jones, however, Urban Meyer's offense has inarguably (and unsurprisingly) underwhelmed through the team's first two games. An uptempo game script against Arizona in Week 3 may be exactly what the doctor ordered for Lawrence to deliver as a low-end QB1.

MAC JONES
QB, NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS

Mac Jones completed 22-of-30 passes for 186 yards, no touchdowns, and no interceptions in the Patriots' 25-6, Week 2 win over the Jets.

Jones absorbed three sacks and fumbled once, but the Patriots recovered it. With fellow rookie Zach Wilson struggling mightily on the other side for the Jets, tossing four interceptions, all Jones had to do was take care of the ball and move the offense into field goal range a number of times. Jones has impressed through two games, even if the counting stats and touchdowns haven't been there. He's been in command of the offense. Jones will be a back-end QB2/3 for next week's date with the Saints in what will likely be a slow-paced contest.

Return to San Francisco 49ers
