I don't think Woodley is a 3-4 OLB.

From what I've heard, he struggled in OLB drills.

Assuming we don't make a deal for CJ (which like Harry Palmer said makes too much sense for both teams to actually happen) the gswhoops plan for the Niners draft is...

1st round: DE or DT (Jamaal Anderson)
2nd round: WR (Sidney Rice)
3rd round: RT or CB (Daymieon Hughes?)

CB is not needed that early, rather take a RT like u said, or another DE/DT...........wouldnt even mind taking a RB there to back up Gore. Get like a Leon Washington type......i dont have any names but that would be nice. maybe if Michael Bush falls to them that would be nice so if gore was to go down, at least our season wouldnt be lost.

I still like.....

1.Willis
2.WR-Rice
3.DE- Francis kid from Hawaii
3.RT
4.DT
4.WR
4.RB-Fast RB from Arizona
5.OLB
6.DB

If Branch is there at 11 we take him there, then a LB with the 3rd pick

Obviously if a guy like Ryan Harris from ND falls to the 3rd that would be ideal.

As long as we come away from day 1 with some combo of DE, DT, ILB, WR, and RT I'll be pretty satisfied.

The only thing I'm hoping is that they don't try to get a WR in the first round, I agree with you guys saying there should be some good wideouts later in the draft.

I know this is a stupid question but my mind is just drawing a blank... Day one ends at the end of the 4th or 3rd round?

Just a random thought in my head.........if everything fell into place with our 1st and 2nd round pick...and for what ever reason we didnt take a reciever in round 2, what combo would you rather have?

1st-Branch DT Michigan
2nd-Harris ILB Michigan

OR

1st- Willis ILB
2nd-Demarcus Tank Tyler-DT From NC State

I personally like the 2nd option, but what do u guys think? or maybe a diff combination without a WR.

I'd rather go Willis #11 and grab a WR like Rice in the 2nd.

Just my $0.02

and then trade ur 3rd round for Jenkins.............a Draft with Willis Rice and then trading for Jenkins would be one hell of an Offseason

Actually, isntead of Rice, take a DE in round 2 that could start....no names coming to mind but then this offseason we would have added Clements, M.Lewis, Banta-Cain, Jenkins, rd 2 DE, Willis as defensive starters. Thats half our defensive unit which was deffently needed.

I like it!

#11 - Patrick Willis
#42 - Tim Crowder/Sidney Rice
#76 - Traded for Kris Jenkins
#97 - Ryan Harris

If we could come out of day 1 with this class I would be thrilled.

i wouldnt mind using 1 of our 4th round picks on an RB also.......if michael Bush is there we need to take him. We really need some insurance at RB. Id even take Bush with our late 3rd round pick. I also wouldnt mind drafting that kid our of Arizona, Chris Henry. He put on a show at the combine and ran around a 4.33 40. Supposed to have all the physical tools just lacks experience and motivation. could be a steal in the 4th or 5th or at least would be a change up to Frank the Tank's style.

No, we already have two RBs behind Gore who are eager and ready to play (Robinson and Hicks). Both of them have different playing style than Gore, so I would rather not waste another pick on a RB.

in football, it doesnt make sense to trade a whole draft for 1 player......especially when you have many needs. I would only do something like that if ur built to win a championship now, like Colts, Pats, Ravens, Eagles, ETC

My new mock..........assuming no trade of a 3rd rd for Jenkins which would be a gift from God.

1st-Willis-LB
2nd-Tank Tyler-DT
3rd-Alama Francis-DE (kid from Hawaii)
3rd-Doug Free-OT
4th-Paul-Soliai-DT....about 340lbs
4th-Chris Henry-RB -physically gifted, could be a steal, probably not
4th-Rhema Mcknight-WR- Notre Dame
4th-Courtney Brown-CB-Cal poly, all the physical tools, 4.3 40yd
5th-Rober Turner-G
6th-Jacob Ford-OLB/DE.......will play LB in the 3-4

Sign either WR Charles Rogers/Tyrone Calico/Corey Bradford to a 1 year contract to take a chance. maybe 2 of em. This would happend after the draft.

Sign another OLB just for a little insurance.

Chad johnson-Rd2
Bolding Rd-2
Stever Smith-rd 3
Coles-Rd 3
Branch-rd 6
Hines Ward-3rd round
J Walker- 2nd round
Owens- 3rd round
Chambers-2nd round

Old #1's-
Horn-5th round
Mason-4th round
Driver-7th round
Darell Jackson-rd 2

Heck even Marques Colston last year was round 6 or 7

I was not saying primary receivers are never taken out of the first round. I was saying I wouldn't have much faith in any of those being drafted this year becoming primaries beyond the first round.

Probably one or two will, but it's really low odds. It's like counting on a second round NBA player to be a starter...it happens, but I wouldn;t plan around it happening.
