Lenior ain't great, but he's world's better than Ambry Thomas. Which is who we will be forced to watch if Demo misses time

At this point, I would sit Jordan Mason.

Just let Tevin Coleman take these garbage time hits

Don't want to get too ahead of things, but it doesn't seem like it is (or should be) a sure thing to just hand Trey Lance the QB1 job next year. Purdy looks like he should at least get a fair competition for it.

Kyle giving carries to Ray Ray now.

Just put in Coleman, what the heck man. RMC might be needed as a WR moving forward

Agreed. He showed he can handle the mentside and poise side of it. Jury is still out with Lance on those.

Has he made Jimmy more expendable?

I would say yes. Not because Jimmy is bad or ineffective or anything along those lines. But the cap is a real thing and we have to deal with that reality. It appears that the way this team is structured, our offense can still score without having to pay $24M (Jimmy's salary last year). Not having to pay that much money for a QB that can still produce wins gives us the cap space we need to address the other areas of need (extending Bosa, a CB, OL help, etc.).

Purdy has an oblique injury, hopefully just minor and won't miss Thursday

That's actually good news since the injury looked scary and instead of gone for the season and having an injury with long-lasting impact it's an ankle sprain that he'll fully recover from and maybe have a shot being ready for the playoffs.

Have to wait until the end of the season to make that call for sure as there have been dozens and dozens of QBs that have looked great in small stretches but fall apart and do nothing the rest of their careers.

But if he does finish strong I'd still lean on Lance starting as QB1 but I wouldn't set it in stone. Lance's ceiling is just much higher than Purdy's but the issue is Lance needs to actually play to have a chance to reach that ceiling so unless Purdy plays out of his mind through the playoffs I still say you have to plug your nose and take the plunge with Lance next season.

It's early but I do feel he likely makes Jimmy G expendable and any talks of a reunion next season should be tabled. For now it feels like he's operating the offense closer to what Jimmy G has been doing simply because he's more athletic and more willing to throw deep. That's not a knock on Jimmy it's just Purdy simply can do more than Jimmy is capable of at least as of now.
