I wouldnt have minded just trading up there in the early 2nd....maybe our 2nd and our 5th to take Alan Branch in the early 2nd roound........

Stayley was a great Pick, highly rated and will probably start at RT this year and move to LT when Jennings leaves or gets hurt. I would take Jarret in the 2nd round and if we cant get him, then we trade for Jacskon.

The line was obviously a concern going into this draft, as they targeted Levi Brown as a possiblity in the first round. Lame Harris sucks, Jennings is always banged up, they can't come to contract terms with Smiley, and Larry Allen is ancient. Let's hope this Staley guy performs like a top 15 draft pick.

Yeah. We must have really felt that Stanley was going to Baltimore at 29. I feel that trading a 4th and future 1st was VERY over priced to move into the 28th pick. Arizona just got the 1st pick of the 2nd round for their 2nd (which was 5 slots down from Oaklands) and 4th. Why couldn't we have waited and done something like that? Trading with NE is always a bad idea, since it seems they always get the better end of the deal :banghead:

we traded a mid to late 1st next year(weaker draft) for a mid 1st round talent this year. we threw in one of our four 4th rounders, no biggie. Kwame, Smiley, and Allen are likely gone in 08, so we definitely needed O-Line help.

If we get DJax I think our WR situation is just fine, for now. We still need to address our D-line, B.Y. won't be here forever.

Our 2nd round pick is coming up next. If we pick up a DE/DL, then its pretty much a guarantee that DJax is coming here.

We traded it with the Colts.

Waiting to see what it was for.

Obviously the Niners were no more enamoured with the 3rd ier WR prospects than I was.

If Houston is still there, think we take him?

I think if Houston was there, even with his inexperience, they take him. I thought Kalil (if looking at line), Jarrett (out wide) or Houston. By trading down and not taking a wide, I think this soldifies them picking up DJax.

Yeah, I was hoping for Houston, but Kalil was my next choice.

ANNOYED.

Not just no report on trade details, but it hasn't even been mentiond except for saying 'Colts now on the clock' when trade must have been made.

Seriously glaring gap here.

Dayum that was a smart deal. Move up 10 spots at the least next year to make up for the one they dealt this year. Hopefully they do well so their pick will be in the twenties. Good job!

No no. I hope Manning breaks his arm and the Colts crash to a top 3 pick

Basically traded a second this year and moving down a few slots next year for a first. I'll take it.
