Interesting Article About Purdy and the Draft

Post#1 » by Pattersonca65 » Tue Jan 24, 2023 10:42 pm

Interesting read about Purdy from a unnamed NFL player evaluator. He claims in a redraft Purdy would have went in the 2nd or 3rd round.

He's being propped up by the system just like Jimmy. Trey Lance is the superior prospect and will be the starter next year no matter what happens.

The clock has struck midnight on Cinderella. He’s a fine backup, but his body ain’t built to be a full time starter.

You guys should go after a proven winner like Brady. That’s all you need with these weapons. Purdy ain’t it. He’s too small and has a noodle arm.

That's it right there. Given how porous our OL looked today, we can't have a sitting duck at QB. Clearly we need a mobile QB. So if Mahommes or Allen aren't available, Brady is obviously the most mobile QB around.

Brady has a quick release. He knows how to get it out fast and let the playmakers do the rest.

His quick release wouldn't save him from getting hit by pass rushers that our OL can't block. But I assume you already knew that.

Brady is over the hill. He looked awful against the 49ers. No one over 40 years old. Purdy does not have a noodle arm.

Compared to guys like Mahomes, Allen, & Burrow yes he does. He doesn’t have the speed of a Hurts either. He is very limited. Trey Lance has a much higher upside. At least he has big boy physical tools.

Shanahan's offense does not require a Mahomes type arm and using mahomes as a base does not classify one as having a noodle arm. Half the NFL would have such under such a definition. Physical tools don't necessarily translate into success in the NFL. The NFL graveyard is littered with NFL Qbs who had great physical traits and a strong arm coming out of college that amounted to nothing. Shanahan may not want to gamble right now on a QB with a great upside but is raw.

Then he should go with a vet like Brady. Purdy is just Jimmy G part 2.

Brady is over the hill. A waste. He looked awful against the 49ers. Inaccurate. At 45 years old it is downhill fast. Let him go to the Raiders if they want him. You keep referring to Purdy as Jimmy G. He has only played half a season in the NFL. You focus too much on the physical and not enough on the intangiables. If the 49ers listened to you back in the day, they would not have drafted Joe montana

Return to San Francisco 49ers
