Niners Angling for Michael Vick?

Lots of circumstancial evidence with some of the OC candidates being interviewed. I'm not sure the bleeding heart liberals in SF are going to go for this.

That would be an absolutely horrible move for San Francisco to make without question.
Of all the preposterous assumptions of humanity over humanity, nothing exceeds most of the criticisms made on the habits of the poor by the well-housed, well-warmed, and well-fed.

Vick was pretty good under Reeves.

Alex Smith is also the same type of quarterback as Michael Vick, so maybe that has more to do with the fact then them actually trying to pursue Mike.

As a huge Michael Vick fan and supporter, hopefully he does go there. Most coaches have had nothing but good things to say about Vick.. especially Dan Reeves.

I don't see what the big deal would be with just bringing in Vick and seeing what he can do. If he works out, great, if he doesn't, cut his ass. Besides, think of all the media attention and extra $$ it would bring to the team. I bet the York's would love to get some of that, instead of planning to build a stadium with the RAIDERS.

I only take the chance if we get him for cheap. Meaning Atlanta waives him and we sign him real cheap. If he has kept himself in shape we could always start using the Wildcat formation with him to mess with teams. I am around his age and been out of football since college but have maintain decent enough shape to only be a tenth of a second off my college 40 time. He has only been out of football for a season. So if he is cheap and with Singletary running the show than we take the chance.

I'm really not a fan, he's not the QB we need especially after picking up a play-maker at the WR position of the caliber of Crabtree. But in general I'd agree with xx_skaterdude that it wouldn't hurt to try him out.

We'd be a hell of a lot more fun on Madden, that's for sure. :)

I know Vick is flashy and a big name, but I don't see how he's any better then Shaun Hill at this point.

Vick (2006): 75.7 QB rating, 52.2% completions, 2474 yards, 20 TDs, 13 picks (16 games)
Hill (2008): 87.5 QB rating, 62.8% completions, 2046 yards, 13 TDs, 8 picks (9 games)

Given his numbers and the fact that he hasn't played organized football for 2 years and I'd bet Hill has a better statistical season then Vick next year.

Well, to be fair, Vick wasn't really the typical QB anyways. But he would be great in the wildcat formation, IMO.

He'd be insane in a wildcat, this is a QB that ran over 1000 yards in a season haha. But I'm not sure that's exactly what we need at the QB position right now, especially after picking up a play-maker like Crabtree stated above.
