OT- Mount Rushmore of sports

Post#1 » by bravesatl » Sun Jul 22, 2007 3:34 pm

who would you put on the Mount Rushmore of sports?

IMO, you can include non-americans in this, it's not the Mount Rushmore of American sports, it's sports all together of all time....

MJ is the only obvious choice, if you dont include him then your just plain ignorant, the other 3 are for debate....

mine:
Michael Jordan
Tiger Woods
Pele
Wayne Gretzky

a lot of people will include ali and ruth, but i think the 4 should include players that were/will be greatest of all time at their sport....

sugar ray robinson > ali
many players can be debated to be better than ruth (mays, bonds, etc)

If you had to select a tennis player who would it be?

Pete Sampras?

Which sport do you think is the hardest to decide on one player? Football?

Do you believe Roger is actually playing against the talent that Pete Sampras did?

Football has to be the hardest sport for me to decide on. The first person that comes to mind is Barry Sanders. Probably way off compared to what many of you believe.

Babe Ruth for baseball

Wayne Gretzky for hockey

Michael Jordan for basketball

Barry's one of the best, even top 10, he's by far one of the best contact hitters of all time, and you need to be able to do that to put up the numbers he has over the years. I won't praise the guy or any record he breaks.

Babe Ruth on the other hand did so much for the game and was basically the most popular man during his time. Barry on the other hand has just helped him self and not the game.
