This is probably our most important series of the year thus far, and the great thing is that we have our three best pitchers (right now) going for us. Glad to see we have Felix and Weaver closing things out, as they have been awesome over the past month or so.

I predict us taking 2 of 3. We always seem to do well against Escobar and Lackey.

Looking at those pitching matchups, most Angels fans would s**t their pants with glee.

This is where my boy Eric O'Flaherty and the other guys in the pen earn their minimum-salary contracts because it's highly likely two of these three won't be decided until after the sixth inning.

Felix vs. Jered Weaver could be a matchup you'll tell your children about.

M's win 2-0. Great job pitching Batista. 7 Scoreless innings. Putz another save. 3 up and 3 down in the 9th.

M's only 3 back now.

Man, just look at Miguel Batista over his last 8 or 9 starts. He's been amazing. He had ONE poor outing, and thats about it. The guy has been our most consistent pitcher, and I'm so thrilled. No M's fan can complain about his signing, it has been working out wonderfully.

And once again, Vidro came up with a pretty big hit. He wasn't getting them early on, but he's started to produce in big spots.

Oh, and I seriously did "LOL" @ Vlad for swinging at that 3rd strike.

That was during the M's HUGE offensive slump. J.J. lost a game then. Batisa's really having great outings lately.

That's the matchup I thought we were least likely to win...Escobar's been a machine this year. Nice win!

Even though we didnt do a whole lot against Escobar, I was pretty confident going in that we would win. I distinctly remember the last time we faced him and we scored something like 6 runs off of him in 2+ innings. Back then, he had a sub 3 ERA as well.

It's strange. Haren and Escobar have been two of the best in baseball this year, but we own them! :D

I actually feel good about our game tomorrow. Jeff has been doing well and I think that we could scrap out another win. I am still really scared about what Bavasi is going to do at the deadline. I will be so happy when it is over.

I'm liking what I'm seeing from Beltre of late. He's showing more confidence and command at the plate than I've seen from him in a Mariners' uniform.

Do I have faith in him yet as a hitter. No. I was too scorched by my hopes of him to invest much of any new expectations in him yet.

Weaver was throwing his fastball way too much. I mean, the ONLY pitch Matthews Jr knows how to hit is a fastball. Shesh.. :nonono:

and that Smith guy in the bullpen is trash. I dont think I've ever seen him pitch well.

Its okay, I always thought Felix vs Weaver was our most favorable matchup in the series.

wow... 20 hits... almost every mariner made one.

felix did a great job, but putz looks like it wasn't really his night.

taking 2 of 3 isn't that bad after all. and now to face the red sox. good thing it's at home.

I missed most of the game (up until 10th inning) because I was winning money at poker (:D) but I was glad to see us win. I had to wake up early though so I wasn't too thrilled about the long game lol.

Really important win. Took 2 of 3 from the division leader and pulled within a 1/2 game, I believe, of the Cleveland Indians for the wild card.

That was really quite a game. I haven't seen an extra innings game in awhile where every extra inning was a nail biter. Putz's implosion, Lopez's throw to beat Guerrero, Lopez's failed bunt, and Yuni's hit to win it. Lots of great plays and bad plays to keep it interesting.

That stretched out a bit. Glad to see it end with the M's getting a tally in the win column.

^ Don't forget Ichiro gunning down Gurrerro, it was it the 7th though.
