The Titans-Texans rivalry heads into its eighth year since the expansion Texans began
play and the AFC South was formed in 2002. In 14 games, the Titans are 11-3 against the
Texans, including a 6-1 mark at LP Field.
This is the first of two games this season with the Texans. The second will occur on
Monday night, Nov. 23, in Houston.
The Titans have separate winning streaks of four games and seven games in the series,
the latter of which was ended in the most recent meeting, a 13-12 Texans win at Reliant Stadium
on Dec. 14, 2008.
The December defeat was the Titans’ second loss of the season. Four field goals by
Rob Bironas were all the Titans could muster against the Texans defense. It was the first
time in 2008 the Titans were kept out of the end zone in a game. The loss ended Tennessee’s
franchise-record string of eight consecutive regular season road wins.
The last Titans-Texans meeting at LP Field occurred in Week 3 of the 2008 season.
The Titans pulled out a 31-12 victory, as cornerback Cortland Finnegan sealed the outcome
with a 99-yard interception return for a touchdown. The interception return was part of a
larger defensive effort that created three turnovers and three sacks and limited the Texans
to a combined 23.8 percent (five of 21) on third and fourth down.
Injury Report:
Titans:
Tight end Bo Scaife (left knee) missed a second straight practice. But rookie tight end Jared Cook was limited in his first practice since hurting his right ankle Aug. 29. ... LB David Thornton (knee) also did not practice.

In the third quarter. The Titans regain the lead 31-24 following RB Chris Johnson's 91 yrd run to make the TD score. The Texans are givin the Titans a fight as they have capitalize on the Titans crucial mistakes. First being the missed assignment on Andre Johnson by both Nick Harper and Michael Griffin then the INT by Kerry Collins which resulted in a TD on the Texans next drive.
Although the Titans have the lead right now in the third, they have been playin shaky since Andre Johnso scored his first TD in the early second quarter.

Our D needs to step up big time. We're doing a good job on Slaton but Schaub is picking us apart. This is the second game in a row this has happened. Thank God for Chris Johnson's awesomness.

The Texans get a PF called against them and they still get the ball in the air for a first down.

The Texans are killin the Tians in the air. The secondary isn't reacting well enough. And for some reason, Andre Johnson has always had good games against the Titans. Wheather it's a win or lose situation.

At least that ball didn't go anywhere as Schaub got hit. Otherwise, JJ catches the ball it's instant TD.
Damn that Titans secondary.

Got a flag on Nick Harper for making contact with AJ.
Schaub makes the Titans pay with play action fake to Daniels for the TD.
