I didn't think the trade would turn the Clippers into world champions but I didn't think they'd look this terrible either. If this goes on for much longer, don't they have to trade him again just to have any chance of saving the season? I'm usually not this pessimistic, but it doesn't look like this is going to get much better.

Sense Of Urgency. None of them have really been known for it except Russ. Who, BTW, was second to T-Mann's plus+18 with a plus+10. It's no coincidence that the two guys best known for SOU finished on top of the heap.

"Slow" is one way of putting it. LAZY is another.

This Kawhi team has never been full of Energizer Bunnies--cutting, screening, crashing the boards. Ty says he's been trying to pick up the pace forever. [So did Doc.]

But now with Beard, it's slower than ever. Ty is laying down the law. Let's face it--the league is getting younger and you're getting older. Something has to give.

Imagine going out of your way to build the oldest team in the NBA, playing anyone under 30 as little as possible, and then being confused at why the team is so slow.

Quick question from a disinterested party.

PG ain't never been an alpha dog and russ has quietly accepted a role playing position. So whose team is this ? Kawhis or Hardens ?

Harden’s been here 2 weeks it’s not his team. It’s Kawhi but he’s not a leader. Therefore it’s Russ. PG can be elite & disastrous at the same time. Zu is lost & out of sync since the trade.

Desperate times call for desperate measures. Change up the lineups completely. Trotting out the same starting 5 & benching Bones for why? To get a better look at what we got going?

Time to start throwing spaghetti at the wall to see what sticks. This is supposed to be about what’s best for the team and getting wins. Not individuals and hurt feelings

Today's game showed the original big 3 worked the best. Harden needs to come off the bench or get traded. Just a sad state this teams in. Really wanted.to enjoy the season

4 guys who need the ball in their hands. You got Leonard hanging out on the 3 point line more than normal. PG thinking he needed to be a glue guy. Russ was given the keys and told to be himself. Now the keys have been given to Harden and told to be himself and has free reign.

Bones has been taken out of the rotation.
Zu looks lost no matter what he’s being told.

We lack size.

A coach who keeps saying it’s going to be all right. Now he’s crying cause guys aren’t playing faster and need to figure it out.

They’re not only not on the same page they’re not even in the same arena.

Thanks for that bro. Even I pointed out early in this thread that Zu looked Lost. Looks like the frustration is coming out. Finally a sign that these guys are still somewhat alive. It's a good thing.

Morey would have welcomed Harden back with open arms. While we could have had Tyrese squared.

We’ve gone from we’ll be all right to the players not listening to coach?

It's nothing personal. It's psychic energy. Chi. Personality. Passion. Joie de vivre. Call it what you will.

Russ has it--maybe even a bit too much of it. He's still trying to harness it, even at age 35.
Mann has it, which is why he's a fan favorite and IMO why Ballmer is loath to deal him.
Bones, I think--although he seemed to be sulking in Denver which is why they dumped him.
Plumlee--a bit, yes.
Zu has had it, although lately he seems to have lost his spark.

Reggie had it. Pat Bev. Trezz. Lou.

LeBron, yes definitely. Giannis, a ton. Jimmy Butler. Embiid, enough. Joker--enough:

PG, meh. He talks too much. Kawhi--no. Harden--no-er than no.

And Ty doesn't really have it either. No Bobby Knight here. And that could be a problem. Not THE problem--but it could be the only fix available.

He really is Doc 2.0. All phony bravado until adversity sinks in and he starts throwing everyone else under the bus.

I mean, really. I think he's probably the smartest Clipper. But he just talks too much.

To be or not to be. OK, Hamlet. Stfu and do it already. Make it happen. Don't throw it on coach. NBA coaches are not orchestra conductors or NFL co-ordinators calling every play over your helmet headphone.

The problem is that your fellow superstars Kawhi and Beard want to play at a pace that has been out of date since Bird and Magic. And Russ has always been a leader without any followers.

And look what happened to Budenholzer. Vogel. Nick Nurse and Carlisle. Lue fired by the Cavs. Sic Transit Gloria Mundi. Whoever Gloria Mundi is.

Yes, Ty has another 6-8 weeks to "figure it out." COACHCOACHCOACH. Yaddayaddayadda. Otherwise Ballmer has no choice. He's already all in. Can't fire Harden. Can't fire the whole team.

Forget plans. Forget systems. Forget coaching. Forget the future. Going downdowndown. MAYDAYMAYDAY! There is only one ripcord left to pull. Total chaos.

D'Antoni. :rofl2:

For those asking if they are the worst in the league, you're gonna have to wait at least five games. Both Jazz and Grizzlies would need to win at least two games with the Clippers losing at least two more. But then you have to factor in the east with Pistons and Wizards. Detroit needs the same amount of wins as Utah and Memphis, but D.C. only needs one.

Overall, heartbreaking loss. And the brief moment where Harden was on the bench may be their only salvation.

I wouldn't recommend buying out Harden though. The last thing you want is him going to Nuggets for a free ring. Last time they did this was with Reggie Jackson, who Clippers traded for a position of need. Hornets bought out his contract, then joined Nuggets and got a free ring.

Trade him to the Knicks , they might give you RJ or Grimes and picks , ideal scenario

I doubt Denver would want him even off from waivers to ruin their chemistry and locker room

Sorry, Knicks are no longer the laughing stock of the league.

Harden already had his failed run in NY with the lowly Nets. He can rot in LA now.

If Kawhi would have some type of leadership acumen this might be convincing but we know that is not the case. He'll probably ask frank to trade him soon.

Move on from Lue

I think i would trade PG and Kawhi for as many first round picks as you can get. Keep Russ cause he is cheap and plays hard. Play Harden for a few more games without Kawhi and PG, see if that makes a difference and then let him walk in the off season. Trade Powell to a contender cause he is a good sixth man on a championship team. Start over.

Russ
Bones
Mann
Brown
Zubac

Fill in with some high energy youngish role players. Be fast paced, young, exciting, and show effort. Clipper fans are loyal with a team that tries hard. We have alwasys just wanted effort first.

Yeah and 2 weeks ago internet Philly wanted to dump Embiid for whatever bag of FRPs Morey could scab up.

Now they're 8-1 and the toast of the town that swore they stopped watching them.

But you're right. Philly loves effort. Allen Iverson was a tattooed "thug" but is now a beloved legend. The Clippers have had nobody like AI. The closest were Sam I Am, Pat Bev, Trezz. HOFers not.
