This game is the ultimate showcase why we need athletic 4-5 tweener type in the roster. It's needed for Zion architype. It's game 50 and we know Kobe's footspeed are not there. We don't have single one of these. Go get Wenyen Gabriel for god sake.

They played like sh*t but the team is beyond gassed right now. I thought this performance was going to come against Atlanta honestly.

You can't take anything from this game besides the fact that they were tired and the Pelicans were rested

Do you seriously think we could have slow down Zion if the team rested? Our nemesis for the last couple years? as much as Jokic?

Game was lost in the 3rd. We had fought back and gained some momentum, but kept blowing possessions. We tried to push pace vice making the smart play. Missed so may shots near the rim.

It wasn't just the players tonight. The fans were no energy. Game start and half the lower level was empty. We were #1 in the West and the fans provided the team with no energy to help them out.

We played with the same energy we did vs the Lakers at the beginning of January.

First bucket with 3 minutes left in the game down by 16. :nonono:

I don't expect a lot but you gotta step up and help win us a game now and then. That said, just about every single player was a shadow of himself. A team loss all the way, versus one of the worst matchups in the league for us physically. Add in our 18 TOs, and they were blasted both physically AND mentally.

Two days off and the Pistons on Saturday. Wipe this one.

Bro we only had 89 points deep into the 4th quarter. We usually would have 115 or more by then. Pels missed a ton of shots in the 2nd half, it was just that we sucked just as bad on offense and couldn't capitalize. We ran them off the floor with fresh legs on their home floor a month and a half ago. 8 games in 13 nights.. we'll be back.

Look, fans can't make up for the lack of rest and no energy. Like Richard Jefferson mentioned, the Clippers body clock is still on east coast time. It's absurd they didn't get any rest after the long road trip.

Still scoreless, team-worst minus-10. I hate harping on him but he's always getting a pass. He's still the best man for the job, mind you, but Coffey's close.

Beginning to agree with this.

PG has not been the second wheel we were hoping for. I'm afraid by the time playoffs come, Kawhi will be totally spent.

hard to have high expectations against one of the kryptonite teams after a very long road trip with players still getting adjusted to the time difference.

You're right. And doing the numbers, it's all there. The stats are even worse than it looks. PG is definitely slumping lately, but I think he must be playing cautiously/hurt with that groin injury.

From December 1 to January 16, he scored 20 points or more in 17 out of 19 games, including 8 of 25 or more.

Over the last 9 games, he's only playing 28.6 mpg.
shooting 40.6%/30%
15.8 ppg, 4.1 rpg, 3.5 apg--all WELL under his season and career numbers

But here's the thing--his plus/minus [plus+16 per 100] is #2 behind Harden and even better than Kawhi's.

PG is NOT hurting the team.

The defense on Zion was infuriating. I guess it's partially what makes him great but they ran the same play like 5 straight possessions and he got to the rim for a layup or easy dunk on all of them. I know he's not an option but doesn't pj tucker seem like the dude to defend him. And if he's not an option than y is he on the team making 11 mil. I do think they should make a move. I think last time we played them getting the ball out of Ingram's hands worked. I thought it just didn't work this game and that's how they got out to the lead. I think they kinda mimicd the clips and got the ball out of kawhis hands and it bogged down the offense. Im from mass and the celts losses at home to the Lakers without LeBron and AD so bad losses happen. That being said they made a small move yesterday. I do think this team should make a small move if it can. I'd take Isaiah Stewart, mathyse thybulle, DeAndre hunter, PJ Washington, Jonathan Isaac. Id even take a Zach Collins or Jakob pohtl. I just think our bigs get caught just watching instead of contesting shots and rebounding. And I also think like the hard trap on best player works but is kinda gimmicky. I'd rather have a super lockdown defender who at least wants the matchups against LeBron, kd, Luka, BI. Lastly, I do think when going for a championship the margin for error is thin. I remember the raps trading jonas for marc gasol. Jonas was good and Marc was at the end of his career but he still was a bit better defensively. Sixers traded theo Ratcliff for Mutumbo. If ur gonna go for it u mine as well go for it.

Really hope the Clippers can flip PJ Tucker today for a serviceable power forward of some type. There has to be someone out there the Clippers can get right?

1st seed was fun while it lasted. Down to 4th just like that.

PG should just rest. I think it’s honorable he’s trying to play through it but he’s often hurting us more than not right now.

I think it’s absurd Mann is considered untouchable by the team. Not saying dump him at any cost but what’s he really providing out there?

The 2 days off should help rest wise for all.

Hoping PJ Tucker is off the team before the deadline too. I’m tired of these articles of how his stance hasn’t changed he wants to play for a contender.

Not buying the explanation that this loss was only because the team was tired. These guys have been consistently cooked by opponents with size all year regardless of circumstances. The front office has to do something to address this or another early playoff flameout is virtually guaranteed.

Clippers beat down the Pelicans last time they played them. Pelicans have been on a win streak and Clippers just got back from a 7 game road trip. Some times mentally is where teams are fatigued more so than physically. The sharpness can decrease. They need the rest and will come back out on another win streak just as they have done all season.

On another note - I am moving to a new place and went to Spectrum store in Thousand Oaks to get a new service started.

My package :

500 mbps internet with wifi and 1 extender.

TV choice with HBO Max ( pick your top 15 channels and stream it on tv app )

Landline ( home phone )

Mobile line ( free for 12 months / unlimited data , talk and text )

$180 per month

Zion is a beast and can handle & finish. But geez his bully ball is kinda ridiculous. I mean he just ran Plum over & over like a semi. And Plum is not a small man.
I feel like regardless of position defense if you just lower your shoulder and run a guy over it could possibly be called a charge?? I’ve seen charging calls for a lot less.

He wasn’t as effective against Zu imo

PG last 5 games 14.2 points, 4.6 assists and 4.0 rebounds shooting 35/24/88 after being 50/40/90 for the first 4 weeks of January. Definitely not himself. might need a rest and reset until after the break
