Mavs playing DJJr. and Gafford starting is questioable considering neither are adequate floor spacers. Though Gafford is a good rim-roll threat.

Should of started Kleber as the hybrid PF.

DJJr. isn't dorian finney smith shooting-wise..

This is probably the best half of defense I've ever seen the Clippers play. They were flying around out there. Hard to believe this is a dreaded weekend matinee game!

Let’s hope Harden, Russ, and Zu can carry us to the finish because it doesn’t look like PG is going to contribute.

Well am I glad I decided to attend

so... despite harden likely getting all the big recognition for the team's first half, and deservedly so

zu and westbrook have been unbelievable. it's still insane to me that zu gets any slander around these parts, because this season he's clearly taken his game to the next level and in this game he's doing these multi-faceted, big-impact things around the basket that is allowing us to feel safe and comfortable in that area. i mean i'd have put money on luka playing zu off the floor and just accepted that fate. but instead, zu's the one who's punking the mavs bigs and playing those dudes off the floor.

westbrook, well, i mean you never know what you're gonna get with him but he has been doing so many small things on defense, it's added up to a big time erosion on the mavs offense.

let's hope the other team doesn't come out of halftime as anything but demoralized.

Wow what a friggin half!

This is exactly what the team needed and then some... playing up to their level of capability at home to start things off, even without Kawhi, this team is a problem when on their game.

And this is with PG13 2-6 and 5pts

I don't really buy the Dallas hype as a deep playoff threat, because their lobs will get limited and taken away in the POs, and then they don't have enough spark around Kyrie and Luka past that. PJ washington is a pretty dynamic hybrid big, THJ, and Exum are solid. Josh Green should be getting minutes. The drop off after Kyrie and Luka is pretty great.

Dallas needed this game and they just don't have enough it looks like. Not out of the woods yet, but almost.

No lead is safe. Cannot afford to take their foot off the gas. Must be ready for the punch Dallas will come out with to start the 3rd.

think i pretty much agree with all this

sure it'd be nice on paper for paul george to have 20 points at the half but that doesn't mean the team would be doing better than it is now. by far the most important piece on this team i'm sure we have all been worried about getting activated (besides kawhi) is harden, and he's showing us he's there. and on top of that, we absolutely need the other guys to get involved and to reach their own levels of role-player stardom, and we're seeing that in westbrook/zu, and a couple other guys to a bit of an extent.

pg doesn't have points to show for it but he's playing well and disciplined, and not forcing anything he shouldn't despite the mavs gameplan being "yeah, don't let him do anything on offense."

i'm good with how things are going.

Defense now can win this game. Hold them under a 100

PG is killing us.
