It's year 5 of the 213 era. At some point, it's not a "process," we just suck.
I'm just wondering how long it'll be until Harden quits on us like he did on his last three teams. He's not built for adversity like this.
This is some of the worst organized basketball i have ever seen. We got beat by 3 backups and a bunch of role players. No rebounding on this team. GM should be fired for making this move. We actually looked respectable before the trade.

The Dream Is Over
First three game losing streak of the season.
Clippers are in the lottery, 3-4.
Since trading for Harden and forming SoCal, they are winless.
This is gonna be the season...

We are winless since trading away Marcus Morris. The Curse of the Mookino.

Well, I’ll be looking forward to seeing this team figuring it out, it’s the only chance really. They got time. We got Mann back, still integrating Harden, and we lost Plumlee plus a lot of size. I’m sure these guys want to win these games as bad as we do, but the NBA is too good now with teams ready exploit so many holes in our game right now.

Wish I left but I’m a glutton for punishment. You didn’t miss anything you hadn’t witnessed throughout the game.
But don’t worry y’all. Lue’s got this.
I may need to take several games off while this team hopefully figures it out. Some of the ugliest ball I've seen and I would like to keep my hair on my head + non gray.
I just don't think it's possible to have all big 4 on at the same time, too much iso. If we can put egos aside I do believe it can be done but the lineups right now are just straight nasty.

Doesn't really matter what he says to the media when he's just going to watch Lue ignore him and play whoever he wants to play. The fact that Lue didn't get fired last year after thumbing his nose at everyone with the Morris situation shows who wears the pants on this team.

Well, I'm liking this, the obstacle is the way, glad this isn't starting out easy and building ego's for these guys thinking the are something. Struggle will force them to build some resilience or sink trying. You have 70+ games vs mid-season trade where it is on the fly.
I hold on to the conclusion that Harden and Westbrook as a starting combo with Kawhi and George is still very suspect. We're just back to closer to Westbrook on the Lakers again with his fit on this team now. The players likely feel it too, but this is tough on Westbrook if he's the one that again has to make the biggest sacrifice.
They are going to have to actually WORK to get things going. They can't play chaos offense like they are the Warriors or something, won't work.
The team needs pecking orders. You need to know who your go to guy is, you need to know who your primary ball handler is, you need guys spacing the floor for others ready to shoot, not waiting to do their own iso or run their own pick and roll.
They've seen their on the fly offense, and so far it's wild, no big deal as long as they make progress. It only a big deal if you stagnate at where you are after the first few days.

Lue has to figure it out. The offense looks like each star takes a turn to score. If we keep moving the ball then there's no way we lose these games.

It's because the league is too good now that there's no time to "figure it out." This is going to be a play-in team, maybe not even that. Which is a disastrous result considering all the assets and picks that Frank traded away to construct this team. We're getting worse every year and every time this front office makes another big move, it backfires. They have the Bandini touch.

Moving the ball effectively is easier said than done, and you have two guys who are very ball dominant for many years where moving the ball is not second nature.
You want to move the ball with purpose, you want to create intial actions to shift the defense, place guys in their spots and produce efficient shots.
Of course this my turn your turn can "work", they aren't going to just keep having bad games if they don't change anything, BUT, yea, you're not maximizing the players.
Problem is, are we going to be like the Lakers and keep trying to fit the square peg into the round hole, or can Lue and the players have the stomach to make the drastic changes (on of Harden or Westbrook off the bench), Harden doesn't need to be a system. Run the offense as a more motion centric offese and utilize a lot of DHO between the main guys, etc

The next 8 games that Lue wants to see some things.
Dallas/Memphis/Denver/Houston/SA/SA/NOP/Dallas

It's going to take a miracle to win a single one of those games.

If we lose to Memphis I may have to follow another team for half the season for mental health reasons

Memphis already ran our old, slow team out of the gym every game before Harden. Imagine how bad it's going to be with this roster. It might put that asswhooping they gave OKC a couple years ago to shame.

PJ Tucker PLUS+10. All other Clippers MINUS except Kawhi who was PLUS+0.
On a serious note, you are correct. The Clippers shot 8-32 from 3, for 22%. NOT gonna happen. But frankly, they kept going to the hole through the big trees and the forest too, and got turned away there. It wasn't just lazy 3s.

Our "Big 4" have all been in the league for 12-14 years now. It's wishful thinking to expect the next 70 games to change who they are. PG will always be wildly inconsistent, Harden will always be a diva who wilts under adversity and doesn't do the little things to help the team win, etc. These guys are set in their ways at this stage of their career and it doesn't appear to be a good mix. Another drawback of building a team around aging veterans in their 30s.

Not encouraging, but they can't continue to shoot this poorly. They were missing a lot of wide open 3s. There does need to be another trade though to restore some more roster balance.
