what hole will be bigger to fill than a feature RB when Julius Jones is not resigned?

MB3 is great in a 2 back offense, but don't think he could be the solo guy...

Well considering Julius hasnt shown much of anything (a few flashes but overall disappointing) his role wont be that hard to replace. Hell lets sign Ricky Williams.

Heres a look at some FAs

Chris Brown (he settled for something near the minimum since he didnt gain much interest this past offseason). hes pretty injury prone but its not like Julius isnt. Which is fine in a 2 back offense.

Michael Turner
He'll be the top guy on the market in all likelyhood due to his age (25) and what hes shown so far as LT's backup. This would cost Jerry the most money but its not like hes a penny pincher.

Jamal Lewis
Another guy that didnt garner a ton of interest this past offseason either. I dont know exactly where id rank him all time but he does have an impressive history.

Others
Cedric Cobbs RFA Denver Broncos
T.J. Duckett UFA Detroit Lions
Justin Fargas UFA Oakland Raiders
Noah Herron RFA Green Bay Packers
Maurice Hicks UFA San Francisco 49ers
Travis Minor UFA St. Louis Rams
Mewelde Moore UFA Minnesota Vikings
Artose Pinner UFA Minnesota Vikings
Musa Smith UFA Baltimore Ravens
LaBrandon Toefield UFA Jacksonville Jaguars

That list isnt as interesting but has a few guys worth a shot on it.

And as the other guy said, its not like we need to spend a top pick on a RB, especially if we're using a 2 back offense.

More pressing needs (though im not sure theres one worth taking very high) are Cornerback (or a Safety would work too), WR sure Glenn may come back and be healthy but i wouldnt count on it with his age and injury history, Crayton has been disappointing this year (even before the finger injury) and I dont see him ever being more than a #3, and Hurd im still not sure what to expect. Hurd has shown some good skills but not a big enough sample size to have a clear verdict. DT might be a need, unless we're convinced Tank can stay out of trouble and do the job. Regardless i think we probably select someone at least by the 2nd round in case.

If we end up with both the LSU boys in the first round id be happy with that too though.

It's in Cleveland. Baltimore does have the 8th ranked D, but Rolle isn't playing. And the Ravens offense is nothing special at all. But... that last place Cleveland D... that's what I'm counting on to shape this into a nice road win for the Ravens. I hope anyway. Go Ravens!

But this is a grudge match for Cleveland. At least for their fans.

Maybe. But the Browns pick is looking like it'll be in the middle of the round.

Even if it is, the trade was still a good trade for us. I'm going to stay with the thought that the Browns are the Browns and we'll have a Top 10 pick.

Yeah, I agree. I've seen enough to know that the Browns are not a playoff team but will burst out on offense enough to whip some teams every now and then. We'll be lucky to get top 10. I'd settle for something between 10-15 right now.

Even if the Cowboys only get a 12-15 pick out of Cleveland pick it will still be a huge success for them. I'll gladly take that anyday.

The 3-3 browns and 6-0 pats are not helping the cause.

Nov 18 CLE @ BAL
Nov 25 HOU @ CLE

Geez, most teams with that schedule would be thinking undefeated season. :-(

Damn. Well lets just remember, these are the BROWNS. Their defense sucks and their QB will throw alot of interceptions. So its very possible some of those that look winnable arent.

Actually, looking at it more, they could easily lose November. Seattle did get beat by the Saints last night but the Saints looked good and Seattle made some stupid mistakes. Pittsburgh at home losing to Cleveland would be a complete shock. I dont think they can go into Baltimore and win against the Ravens. True they beat the Ravens once this year but I cant see them beating them twice. Especially at Baltimore (and the Ravens were missing Rolle last time i think). Houston has struggled recently but they should have Andre back by then and he should tear up that Defense.

In December its hard to say at this point. Arizona should beat them but that largely depends on if they have Warner healthy. Tim Rattay is not an NFL QB. Though the Browns have given up 19 TDs to QBs in their 6 games so far so who knows.

The Jets, again Im not sure, it sure would help if Pennington gets benched by then because Clemens (is that the backup QBs name?) can throw it further than 10 yards which Pennington cant do anymore. Coles has been impressive when ive seen him but im not sure about their other WR's.

Buffalo, depends on which direction their season goes. Hard to say.

Cinci has been pretty bad, though they have faced some tough competition. And yes KC is tough considering the circumstances. KC isnt bad, add to that they were coming off a loss at Arrowhead, It would have been very hard for almost any team to go in there and beat them after that. Even with how bad their defense is i dont think they will give up another career day to Derek Anderson.

San Fran, well hopefully theyll be a bit healthier. It would really help if that division keeps sucking and they are playing for something still.

Dont give up hope yet.
