How do we play D on MIN

Post#1 » by jwa1107 » Tue Oct 16, 2007 6:58 pm

focus everything on stopping Petersen and their running game and hope their QB doesn't light up our corners in man coverage?
or let Petersen get what he can against the 3-4 and make sure there is no way they can pass the ball?

while I think you can do everything you can to shut down the run I worry about the unknown QBwho then lights up a secondary tht just got torched last week... not that it's Tom Brady again, though...

Our Secondary isnt bad. The patriots have a ridiculous amount of receiving options that are impossible to shutdown unless you have 3 above average (and at least one should be pro bowl level) starting CBs.

Given our 3rd cb last week was who Nate Jones? the odds werent in our favor. I dont know if Henry will be healthy this week, though id bet we hold him out to rest him given the bye week after this and Minnys lack of receiving options.

This is a team that throws 2 ints for every TD and only has 3 receiving TDs total. (and one of those is by Peterson.
Bobby Wade, Troy Williamson, Sidney Rice dont sound threatening to me. I think Rice could be a damn good receiver some day but hes not yet and he'll need at least an average QB to help.

Key on Peterson, have Ware focus on him all day and if he goes out for passes one of the safetys or even a corner.

yea seriously, you could lieterally put 10 in the box to stop peterson and you still probably dont need to worry about the minnesota WR's.

Stack the line. Tell Roy he's a linebacker (and teach him how to wrap people up on tackles).

Agree, make that QB prove he can throw it IF we don't sack him.

PS: Speaking of Roy, anyone else looking forward to a Roy-Peterson collision?

Need to stop Peterson like how most people have already said.

Some safety blitzes would be nice. They're a lost art.
