The Toronto Blue Jays target their third straight win this evening when they play the middle contest of a three-game set with the Boston Red Sox at Rogers Centre.
Toronto won for the third time in its last four tries on Tuesday, as Gustavo Chacin tossed 6 2/3 strong innings and outlasted Japanese star Daisuke Matsuzaka to lead the Blue Jays to a 2-1 win.
Chacin (2-0) allowed one run on six hits with three strikeouts for the Blue Jays, who have won four of their last six games overall. Lyle Overbay and Gregg Zaun both notched an RBI in the winning effort.
Matsuzaka struck out 10 batters but suffered the loss in his third career start for the Red Sox, who saw their three-game win streak halted. Matsuzaka (1-2) allowed two runs on only three hits and issued three walks.
Wily Mo Pena's home run accounted for the only Boston offense.
Getting the call for the Blue Jays tonight will be Japanese righty Tomo Ohka, who will be facing the Red Sox for the first time in his career. Ohka began his career with Boston and pitched there from 1999-2001. The Red Sox are the only major league team he has never faced.
Ohka was tagged with the loss in his last start on Thursday against the Detroit Tigers, as he allowed five runs (four earned) on eight hits in six innings to fall to 0-1 on the year to go along with a 7.84 earned run average.
Boston will counter with veteran knuckleballer Tim Wakefield, who is 1-1 this year with a sparkling 1.38 ERA. After a hard-luck loss in his season debut, Wakefield was again impressive in his most recent outing on Friday against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, as he allowed a run on five hits in seven innings.
While Ohka will be making his first start against the Red Sox, Wakefield is no stranger to the Blue Jays, who he has faced 40 times, 30 of which have been starts. Last year he was 0-1 against them and is 12-8 lifetime with a 3.93 ERA.
The Blue Jays won 12 of their 19 matchups with the Red Sox last season and are 24-14 against them since the start of 2005. Boston has also won just six times in its last 20 visits north of the border.

Okha pitched well but im worried about the homeruns that he continues to give up this season. The loss of Reed Johnson is really hurting the Jays because players like Wells and Thomas need to have baserunners on to be effective and Lind and Rios won't be able to provide them with that because of their agressive approach at the plate.
