Soriano hurt

Post#1 » by treyZz » Tue Apr 17, 2007 1:24 am

It didn't look too bad.. Hopefully he doesn't go on the DL.

But it could turn out to be a good thing.. Pie time?

Why he is tearing it up in the minors.
Soriano needs a little break and when he comes back hopefully he will be in good form.

I don't want to bring him up too soon. He is just now starting to show plate discipline this year and I'd like to give him a little more time in the minors honing that. Before putting the pressure he would be under in the majors which could cause him revert to bad habbits.

Yes I agree, bring Pie up.

Soriano will be fine, not uncommon for people to strain hamstrings/quads this early in the season because of the weather.

So far it's not looking so great. I can't believe they put him as lead off. Talk about putting a lot of pressure on a guy.

Cubs.com wrote:An MRI exam on Alfonso Soriano's left leg revealed a minor hamstring strain, and he did not expect to need more than a week to heal. The Cubs medical staff apparently agreed, because Soriano was not placed on the disabled list Tuesday.

..also

Chicago Sun-Times wrote:SORIANO IMPROVES: Soriano took batting practice for the first time since straining his left hamstring Monday against the San Diego Padres and predicted a return to the lineup this weekend against the St. Louis Cardinals.

''Depending how I feel, maybe Friday,'' said Soriano, who also stretched with the team before batting practice and jogged lightly.

He said the injury feels similar to a hamstring strain in 2005 that kept him out less than a week.

Soriano was also quoted as saying he would move to a corner spot if Lou wanted him too..

That's great news.
