Series Thread: Red Sox @ Orioles (4/25, 4/26)

Post#1 » by The Rondo Show » Wed Apr 25, 2007 11:19 pm

Well, there is no series thread up so I'll just throw together a **** one. Was hoping Flaming Mo would do it since the Sox are undefeated in his Series threads (3-0); but 9-5 isn't bad compared to Bleeding Green's 0-2 record.

Game one: Right now on NESN. Schilling vs. Cabrera, Crisp still injured...Cora in for Pedroia.

Game two: Thursday, April 26th at 7 PM EST on NESN. Beckett vs. Loewen.

Good win. I refrained from making the thread for that very reason. I'd like another blowout win tomorrow so that Papelbon is rested for the Yankees. Loewen doesn't have very good command, so I'd like to think the Red Sox can exploit him.

Good to see Youkilis have a nice night. Hopefully Pedroia can get on track after a couple nights off.

Hideki Okajima is amazing. Those curveballs to Huff were just ridiculous. This guy is looking more and more like he is legit.

On a completely unrelated note: anyone watching this Peavy/Webb matchup? Webb has been good but Peavy is tossing a legendary game. Pedro in his prime esque good. 13 K's through 5 1/3 IP and his slider has been completely unhittable all game. What a performance. It is a shame this is probably his last inning because he has thrown so many pitches due to going deep into the count/getting K's.

I wonder if we sweeten the deal and throw in WMP along with Lowell, we can still get Peavy :)

I've always been a guy who supports Wily Mo because I see alot of potential in him, but holy...
"The guy is an idiot," Pedroia said regarding Cabrera. "I dropped my bat. It kind of freaked me out. I was upset they took him out of the game. He is good to hit. He's 9-15. The guy [stinks]."

The guy is in a tough stretch right now. I think he'll be fine and I'm sure he won't be hitting .120.

Damn, I have to watch Hughes debut on sopcast, can't find any Sox channels... so I ahve to follow the Sox game on the yahoo live ticker.

Lucky bastard Loewen, geeez! Pena lines into a double play and then walks three guys to get to Big Papi and gets him out... that can't continue!!!

Beckett seems to get a lot of ground balls which is good, hope he can keep the game close...

So much for that and we also blew a runner on third with less than two outs situation... :banghead:

Atleast Wily Mo with a double!

However this game will end, Josh Beckett with another quality performance, no walks, no homers given up, a lot of ground balls, 8 innings of work...
