2010-2011 Redskins Season

Post#1 » by Rafael122 » Sun Sep 19, 2010 2:42 pm

Alright, so we beat the Cowboys Week 1 with a 13-7 win, thanks to the holding penalty on Alex Barron.

Game 2 is this afternoon at 4:15 against the Houston Texans who ran roughshod over the Colts. I don't think Foster will have as big of a game as everyone thinks he will. Should be a fun game to watch.

I'll try and post articles from the Post and other papers throughout the week just to keep this thread busy. Hopefully more people from the Wizards board stop by.

Wow, the Houston loss reminded me of the Norv years. Great offensive numbers but the defense can't hold up in the 4th quarter. And depending on what Trent Williams' injury is, those numbers could be short-lived. Heyer starting for any length of time means death to McNabb.

That loss hurt. I had this pegged as a loss anyway, but we should have won that game. They blocked a field goal, had we made that, we'd be 2-0 right now.

Just frustrating. I would rather get blownout than to lose like this.

Painful loss.

But for the last 18 years.....I've come to expect them.

Yet another hilarious loss to the Rams. I guess they are our new nemesis. Hopefully this will pour sufficient cold water on the "playoff contender" talk after last week's offensive explosion.

The fact is that nobody had this team as anything other than 1-2 after three games. The only difference is that they ended up beating Dallas instead of St Louis. This is a team in transition that will be lucky to be .500 when it's all said and done. And that doesn't even really matter since the majority of the current starters will be gone next season anyway.

The Redskins really seem to be stuck this season. They are not good enough to make the play-offs, but they are too old to rebuild with the current guys. I hope they prove me wrong, but they look a lot like a 6-10 team.

it may be wise to find a way to get some more draft picks over the next two years because were gonna need em. OLB, NT, CB, WR, RB, OG, C, QB (for future) . Theses needs are in no particular order. It will take probably two drafts to address these problems. we may be able to find some FA at manageable prices to bring in that are system guys.
On a bright note we have some guys on the roster that could be valuable in the future if they pan out. Some that come to mind are Capers at RT (lot of potential). I like the way Torain and Willaims play but we still need a speed RB. Riley and Henson played well Preseason. Young at FB, B Banks in Harvin/ Mcluster type of role, even Austin showed good hands but we still need a guy with size at Wr.
If we are 1-5 come week six i think we'll see something reminiscent of what EG did with the wiz, and start shipping guys out for draft picks to teams that are contenders but sustain injury.
Sit back and watch WALL WORK!! >:-)

Not sure how they are pulling these games off, but at 3-2 this team is very much in it in the NFC. Losing Trent Williams for a long period of time would be a real blow, though. That's one thing that could completely derail any positive mojo that could come from beating the Packers.

The return of the burgundy and gold.

Love it.

Tough loss to Indy but it was still a good game. Great plays by Buchanon/Landry to give us a chance at the end. And this was the first time that I really felt like we needed Haynesworth, so hopefully he'll be back next week.

Oh and Carlos Rogers just needs to go away. On one hand, the reason he has the opportunity to drop those interceptions in the first place is because he's in good position. But it's just too frustrating to watch him drop game changing pick after game changing pick.

Skins could have had 3 picks.....you just have to make those plays.
