Mike Hampton

What can we honestly expect from this guy this season?

Im really excited about him getting back on the mound because he was dominant (again) when he went down. But we all know he can be average too. Obviously I would love for him to pick right up where he left off but im not sure if that's really feasable coming off injury. What do you guys expect from him?

Well, hes out at least one month with an injury to his oblique.

Case in point,I wouldn't expect much...a .500 record at best, a high 4 if not low 5 era would be my guess. Coming back from major surgery is no easy task...

It wouldn't surprise me if he spent over half the year on the DL again.

In all honesty, I don't ever consider him part of our rotation.

I think we need Hampton to be effective when he gets back. The back end of our rotation is weak (Redman/Cormier) and he would be a big upgrade over these two IMO.

Yeah I think it's gonna be huge for us to get him back. People forget that when he's healthy, hes a top notch pitcher. I agree itd be a huge upgrade over redman and cormier

If Hampton provides ANYTHING for us, it's a positive. Otherwise, I don't consider him a real part of the team.

I don't understand why he's apart of the team.

While I could careless if us fans feel he's part of the team, I hope Mike feels like he's part of the team, because were going to need him confident when he rejoins the team. I hope his teammates are hanging out with him and hopefully he has some close relationships with some of the guys.

I would love for him to come back and give us something. I worry about the backend of our rotation.

"Hampton has yet another setback."

Well this is discouraging, hopefully it turns out to be nothing when he sees the specialist.

I can't wait for his contract to be off our books. (Not that our ownership is going to put it to use)

I wish he could have pitched this year. Besides the obvious reason that he could have given us a more stable starting line up, but we could have had the chance to trade him. Oh well, as HMFFL says I can't wait until he is gone, he eats up so much salary that we could put towards getting Andruw to resign.
