Playoff Race

Only bringing this up b/c the NFC isn't in very good shape at the moment. Right now Washington is 2 games back for the last wild card spot. The win at Dallas made things interesting in the sense that had they lost, I would think any chance at a playoff berth would be small. They won, and they have a cupcake schedule with games at Minnesota, BYE, then a game against Tampa. They have a realistic shot at going 5-5 within the next couple of weeks before facing San Francisco and Indianapolis.
Here are the current standings:
6. Green Bay (5-3) - BYE
7. San Francisco (4-3) - @ St. Louis
8. Seattle (4-3) - @ Oakland
9. Giants (3-4) - @ Indianapolis
10. Carolina (3-5-1) - lost to New Orleans
11. Chicago (3-5) - BYE
12. Minnesota (3-5) - vs. Washington
13. Washington (3-5) @ Minnesota
So for Week 9, Washington has to win, first and foremost. Giants need to lose at Indianapolis, San Francisco and Seattle will both probably win their games. A Washington win moves them up 9th with the bye week coming up, a game behind Green Bay.
It's a lot to overcome and this thread is probably premature but I'm just putting it out there. I'll update it weekly.
