Taylor on the List of most Ferocious Hitters

Post#1 » by Scabs304 » Mon Jun 4, 2007 10:25 pm

It's an insider column so all you get of the list is Sean Taylor. I wonder who are the other players on the list but allowed my insider subscription that came with the magazine to run out. Anyways anybody that has played with and been ran into by Taylor knows just how dangerous he is on defense.

Hes not bad in coverage either. He just struggles with the Cover 2 which is what we ran last year without Shawn Springs. Hes too aggressive to handle deep zone duties.

Taylor was great as a center field safety, something he hasn't had a chance to play a lot. Gregg Williams did say that they plan on using him like that from now on with Landry handling the running game duties.

I expect atleast 6 INT's from ST this season.

I have Insider, but what's the title of the article? I couldn't find it anywhere.

The title is "The List: Top 5 ferocious hitters". There isn't much to the article....there is only about 5 lines per player. Just search on "NFL ferocious hitters".

Got it, thanks. It's from April 16.

Here's the snippet on Taylor: "He's reckless and plays with no regard for his body. A great hitter has to have no fear of hurting himself and that's the way Taylor plays. He's a physically dominant football player and brings that Ronnie Lott type of aura."

Besides Harrison on that list none stand out like Taylor does IMO. Peppers is a great hitter but at the DE spot he just really doesn't have the freelancing neccessary to put up the really big hits. Pol and Dawkins made me laugh a little.

Dawkins had one good hit on Alge Crumpler a few years ago in the NFC Championship game and people have been riding his nutts ever since.
