Skins trade for Erasmus James

Post#1 » by LyricalRico » Wed May 28, 2008 2:40 am

James has had three surgeries on his left knee and has missed 24 games over the past two seasons. The Redskins believe James is 90 percent healed from his most recent surgery and would have a chance to be healthy by the start of the regular season.

Well, he's a DE and the pick is conditional (I imagine only payable if he actually plays) so I don't really see any downside. Not an every down player but if he can get into the rotation and get a few sacks he could be a steal.

I'm not expecting much, though.

Thoughts?

Excellent move.

Low risk/High reward. They only get the pick if he makes the team.

vikings fan...

showed all the potential in the world, but simply cannot stay healthy. If he gets healthy and gets some reps he will be a steal for you. The vikings have plenty of dline depth and could not spend a roster spot on a guy hoping to get healthy.

Early word is from the trainers is that he should be 100% ready for training camp. Apparently he rushed through his last rehab which is why he had a set back.

IIRC, our d-line coach worked with him in college so he must know something rest of us doesn't.

Very good move by the Redskins. They get a guy that could turn out to be a very good pass rusher for basically nothing. Great job!
