Petyon Manning, controversial

Joe Montana, questionable

Bobby Hebert, debatable

Matt Stover, laughable

^ I actually agree with the Stover pick. The only other name you could even bring up would be Ray Lewis. Yes, their defense was fierce, but Ray had 10 other guys beside him, some of whom are/were great in their own right. But Stover was the better part of entire scoring output for half a decade. he also single handedly kicked them to a Super Bowl. I'd say they got that one right.

the laughable comment on matt stover wasn't regarding the error in the choosing, but the sheer comedy of having a kicker with the franchise tag. the ravens best player, the defining player of their successful albeit brief history, is their kicker, who isn't even the best kicker among his peers. when a DPOY and a 2000+ yard rusher is outplayed by your kicker, something just isn't clicking well.

Jamal Lewis, only 2000 rushing back not to go the HOF? or should he be inducted on the grounds that he is now more famous due to the enormous irregularity of his prodigious season?

If the penultimate preseason game is a regular season preview, I hope the Skins have held on to their next 1st round pick because I think it will be top 5. Wow.

I hope Taylor didn't tear anything. Good thing James is healthy enough to play. At least they'll have a body on end.

Can we include management in that discussion? My pick: Vinny Cerrato.

As far as players go, Shuler was probably the worst on the football field, but I didn't hate the guy and honestly felt bad for him. I hated watching Archuletta on the football field, even if it was for basically only half a season.

I'd have to go with Mark Brunell. For about two and half years, I hated watching the Redskins solely because of him and his "supersmart" decision making.

Jay Schroeder gets honorable mention, not for just his grounders into the dirt, but for blowing me off when I asked for his autograph years ago as a kid.

As far as best Redskin ever my vote goes to Darrell Green. A class individual off the field and a physical marvel on the field. Even in his final year he was still a damn good corner.

Good choices all around, dat. I still want a wing of the Redskins Hall of Shame for Spurrier...goodness he was horrible.

Horrific showing this past weekend, and for the first time in awhile, I'm gonna say it...Jansen looked AWFUL. WOW. This guy is horrible in pass protection.

J Taylor, sprained knee, out 10-14 days.

Dodged a bullet.

J Taylor is an elite athlete. Next time you see that play look at him shift his body to his right at the point where the guy started falling on his leg. If he didn't have the reflexes to do that his leg would have snapped. Very impressive thing.

We can only hope he stays relatively healthy once he returns. I just hope he doesn't bring the Miami "luck" with him...

Our rookie safeties, Kareem Moore and Chris Horton are playing really good. I think Moore has a chance to supplant Doughty in the future.

We looked terrible. Apparently all of the starters want to play next week. Hopefuuly we don't get bitten in the arse and lose a starter for the season. A dude on the Redskins Insider board named Prison Balls all but guaranteed it.

My latest Quick Hitters column:
There is a lot of pressure on Head Coach Jim Zorn because the Redskins management regards this as a playoff team. Washington got on a hot run at the end of last season behind a backup quarterback almost nobody had seen play in recent years. They made the playoffs — barely — in a good division, but a bad conference. They would not have been close to the playoffs in the more powerful AFC. The last two weeks, the Redskins have looked more like another 6-10 team than a playoff squad.

Read it all.

One we already know about Zorn: he'll have them ready to play every game.
