Jack is a nickname for John. Jack Kennedy. John is the original Jack Black.

New Update.

http://www.nba.com/lakers/news/090401by ... gress.html

Black explained that Bynum has been at the El Segundo facilities for around an hour to an hour and a half every day since the 23rd, participating in 1-on-1 and 2-on-2 drills, big man drills and back-to-the-basket work. The 21-year-old from New Jersey (who was averaging 26.2 points, 13.8 boards and 3.2 blocks in the five games leading up to his injury) is also going through extensive running drills and other conditioning work, and is already at his playing weight.

Andrew Bynum says he's making solid progress in recovery

Bynum apologized for being an hour late for the interview. He had been working out with Bill Bertka, the Lakers' director of scouting and basketball consultant, and his personal trainer, Sean Zarzana, at the team's training facility in El Segundo.

Bertka has Bynum going through a series of fast-break, defensive and offensive drills.

Bynum has been playing two-on-two and three-on-three in recent days against free agents.

He has lifted weights to strengthen his quads and hamstrings to make sure the ligaments around his knees are strong.

"The last three weeks have been really big," Bynum said. "I was not so good the first week. But then I got better after that. Now I've gotten better. Now it's time to up the rehab load and see what happens."

That could come today, when Bynum hopes to play two-on-two and three-on-three against some of his Lakers teammates when the team returns home from a seven-game, 13-day journey.

Lakers' Phil Jackson says Andrew Bynum still rusty

Lakers Coach Phil Jackson told reporters today that his injured center Andrew Bynum might be ready to play the last week of the regular season. The Lakers' final game of the regular season is April 14 at home against Utah.

Today, Bynum played three-on-three at the Lakers' practice facility, and he was outplayed by the team's backup center, DJ Mbenga, Jackson said. On Saturday, Jackson expects Bynum to play in a full five-on-five practice session.

Bynum has been sidelined since tearing his medial collateral ligament on Jan. 31 in a game against the Memphis Grizzlies.

playing against dj is no joke. this isn't chris mihm we're talking about. the fact he's expected to go 5 on 5 on saturday is encouraging enough.

i'll put in in the title for some laughs.

DJ's been real confident lately, pulling shots at will in games, scrapping in practice on top of the fact he was outplaying Mihm which was the reason Mihm was expendable. Now he outplays Drew in 5 on 5 ? This leads me to believe one thing.................some LA skank has gotta hold of "Congo Cash" ask Kobe calls him.

What else can it be ?

DJ needs to dunk more and play around the rim. The size of that guy isn't exactly Shaq but still he's immovable for the modern day big men who come off the bench.
