Congrats to the Lakers. Glad it didn't come down to shady zebras or anything like that. The Wolves have really struggled with whatever this illness is going around the team lately, but the Lakers just wanted this game more and out worked the Wolves.

It also REALLY sucks to lose Naz for the rest of the season, he was a big part of their success on the roadtrip recently (and was their top/2nd scorer in a lot of those games).

Kudos to the Lakers for putting it together when they needed it and if they can play with that type of fire they won't be an easy out in the playoffs.

Luckily it was date night with my wife, so I didn't see the game, but by all accounts it sounds like the Lakers were just the better team tonight. Good luck the rest of the way.

If AD is out for 3 weeks like lebron did after his ankles cool down, season may just be over.

He said he's fine.

Injury timelines are not made the same anyway. Teams are prolonging the return as much as possible to make sure the players are ready 100% for the potential playoffs.

It's not that time of the year now. Players are going to play through all sorts of injuries going forward.

We do have a good team.
We still need a big, although Hachimura played KAT very well tonight

Watching the replay of the Wolves game from last night and our defensive intensity in the second half is impressive.

Dennis went into fierce mode picking up Conely and their PGs and Hachimura was hounding KAT.

That allowed AD to hang out in the paint and protect the rim. It also allowed Vandy to more effectively chase Edwards around on the perimeter.

This is one of the more impressive adjustments I’ve seen Ham make all year.

The Lakers actually have a realistic path to the 5th seed. I never would have imagined saying that a couple of weeks ago.

In theory yes if they don’t lose any more games and GSW lose another game but do we really want to see them battle the Suns with KD, Booker, Ayton and CP3 without home court advantage, or face Memphis or Sacramento in the first round?

As long as we’re playing well and going into the playoffs with momentum and we don’t have significant injuries, I like our chances with any seeding.
All of the teams above us have obviously played better than us throughout the year.
But since the all-star break, with the new editions we’ve had, we have been competitive and at this point we can compete with any of these teams.
Memphis wine team I’d prefer to avoid in the first couple of rounds though.

While I do think the Suns would be a bear to take down, the nice thing is we’ll get to see how the Lakers match up with them in a few days.

If, I mean if, we are guaranteed a play-in spot after maybe 3 games from now and see no chance at the sixth spot or above, we can actually rest some of our players for 1-2 games and save leg for the play-in games?

Not all play-in spots are the same.
There is a huge difference between the 7/8 spots and the 9/10 spots. All things being equal, the 7/8 spots have a 75% chance of advancing to playoffs, while 9/10 spots only have a 25% chance. The incentive to move from 8 to 7 or 10 to 9 is smaller (home court advantage for the first game), but is still important.
Unless we know our seeding before the last game, I doubt we get any rest.

12-6 since ASB. Let’s kill the Rockets tonight.
NBA titles since the merger: LAL 11, CHI 6, SAS 5, BOS 5, GSW 4.
